The ComingSoon.net Box Office Report has been updated with the studio estimates for the weekend. Be sure to stay tuned there for the final figures on Monday.

DreamWorks' The Ring Two, starring Naomi Watts, opened in first place with an estimated $36 million from 3,332 theaters for a strong average of $10,804 per location. If estimates hold, the sequel marks the third-biggest opening for the month of March, trailing just behind Robots ($36.045 million) and 2002's Ice Age ($46.3 million). The first film debuted to just $15 million, but good word of mouth enabled the film to reach $129 million domestically.

A sixty-percent hit is what The Ring Two took this weekend when Hideo Nakata's sequel fell from its number one spot last week to number three this Easter holiday weekend. It wasn't all bad news for Samara. She still managed to bring in an estimated $13.8 million dollars over the three-day period. That brings its total gross around to about $58 million. However, the temperamental little hag couldn't fend off the power of Sandra Bullock and Ashton Kutcher. Guess Who? debuted at number one with $21 million while the second Miss Congeniality ranked at number two with $14.5 million. Look for official estimates to be announced Monday afternoon.
