Has anyone been as befuddled as I about the appearance in the trailer for Arthur of barbed wire? So Arthur takes place in the middle ages, perhaps long before I am not very familiar with the legend, but I am positive that barbed wire was invented in the mid 1800's as a way to keep cattle withing range boundaries. Production methods regarding steel could, at that time, not have produced a steel with such ductility (ability to be drawn into strands) and maintained a high tensile strength. I hope that whom ever produced and / or directed this tripe cares to do some research on their films in the future. Please let me know if this sort of small nuance within all modern movies really makes them mad, it's the attention to detail that seperates movies such as The Pianist from the grimey likes of Red Dawn, or Road House, or any Partick Swazey film for that matter.

Patrick Swayze LOL

It's an action film, but as the other poster noted, even the post-Roman period was not quite as advanced as is being portrayed. Visually stunning, yes. Might even be a good telling of the story, or an interpretation of the story, yes.

It will be fun to watch, and inwardly I , too will grimace at strange anachronisms.

But that's Bruckheimer for ya.

The armor looks way too manufactured for my liking, but at least it not the stainless steel look of Boorman's Excalibur, which was truly laughable.
