Anticipation Level:
How excited (or not) I am to see this movie...
The second outing of Matt Damon as Jason Bourne in The Bourne Supremacy is the kind of spy thriller that the James Bond movies have stopped being. James Bond is all about the explosions and the girls, not Jason Bourne.

This is a great sequel because it builds on the original story of The Bourne Identity. Jason Bourne is not a complete man yet but he is more complete than the guy at the end of The Bourne Identity and the movie goes into his early CIA days and his first mission in Berlin with Conklin. The movie also explains what the other characters from the first movie have been up to, like Ward Abbott and Nicolette.

The performances are really good, Matt Damon plays Jason Bourne like a man who doesn't fully know who he is and where he came from.
The rest of the performances are very solid specifically Joan Allen, Brian Cox, Julia Stiles, and Franka Potente is really good in her brief stint as Marie.

The movie looks like it was shot on a handheld camera because some of the shots come out confusing like when Bourne and the other Treadstone assassin fight in the kitchen you can't tell who is winning or losing for most of the fight. Otherwise, the handheld camera makes you feel like your seeing what Bourne is seeing when he is being chased and how he reacts at the end of the movie when confronted with Kirill.

Furthermore, Jason Bourne finds out his real name and where he was born right at the end of the movie.

Overall, this is a great sequel. It builds from the first story and leaves the door open for the third movie, The Bourne Ultimatum.

I definetly hope that they make The Bourne Ultimatum.
At the start of the movie, we find Jason and Marie (once again played by Franka Potente) living in Goa, India. Jason is still plagued by a nightmare/dream that he keeps having over and over about a mission he did while Conklin (Chris Cooper in flashbacks) was there. Meanwhile, Pamela Landy (Joan Allen) is observing a cash for information exchange to try to flush out a mole in the CIA. Kirill (assasin played by Karl Urban) shows up at the exchange kills both men and leaves Jason Bourne's fingerprint at the scene. This then leads Kirill to go to India and kill Bourne but instead of killing Bourne, Kirill kills Marie. This lead Jason Bourne back to the world he thought he could just walk away from 2 years ago.

Bourne goes on a trek through Naples, Italy; Munich and Berlin, Germany; and Moscow, Russia to clear his name after Pamela Landy think he killed both men and has the files that were to be exchanged.
