Seriously, guys. It may have been based on a book, but the original had nothing original. It had car chases and a love interest. Yawn.

That's exactly the review I would expect from a bleeding-heart liberal haha Don't be swayed, everybody. "The Bourne Identity" is still one heck of a film. Quite possibly one of the most underrated action films of all time, I hope it will get the respect it deserves with its trilogy. Oh by the way, those medals on Kerry's chest....are they the same medals he torched in protest of the war he helped fight? Just curious

I was very dissapointed by the movie mostly because there were so many cool scenes from the book I was looking forward to. They ended up having almost nothing from the book.

THE BRIDE: It was not my intention to do this in front of you. For that I'm sorry. But you can take my word for it, your mother had it coming. When you grow up, if you still feel raw about it, I'll be waiting.

And with that apology, statement, and invitation, The Bride walks out the kitchen side door, leaving the little girl to her mourning.

Yeah I know my screen name sucks.

the originl rocked, and ok there were scenes missing from the book, but all movies do this its artisitc lisence. The pace the film was set requied this to be done, i agree with the previous poster its one of the most underated action thrillers of all time, damon is wicked and the cast pull of a rockin movie, im hopin the sequal will not let it down cause the 1st is a classic. the fight scense were amazing and not over contrived, the action was realistic, the acting was convincing. Cmon people im english and am sceptical about american films but this one truly was exellent. it was subtle and yet exilarating, too many american action thrillers have big musclebound actors like the austrian oaf arnie stubling around with one liners beating the crap out of anythin that moves, bring on the subtle action heros people

i love it when people expect movies to be exactly like the book. deep down, i don't really think that's what we want. and with the BI, it would be very hard to make a movie that was exactly like the book. i just don't think it would sell to anyone other than those who have read it. and after all, it IS all about money

The Bourne Identity is one of those films that for me is a blast to watch over and over. There's some great action, a very cool and stylish story (thanks to the book). I think to say the movie "sucked" is extremely unfair. I may get bashed for saying this but it's one of my favorite action movies of all-time.

For the people who haven't seen the first film. Don't let this extremely deep/in-depth review of "it sucked" (*note the sarcasm) keep you from seeing this movie... and eventually leading you into seeing Bourne Supremacy.

Add to the fact that an exact copy of the book would be extremely hard to do, and you'd be in for one long movie. Personally I want some original ideas thrown in... otherwise I'll just go read the book.

I loved the first movie.

It provided action that was realistic, one of the best car chases I have ever seen and they did it wihtout sinking down to using cgi, and a tight fast paced story to keep you interested
