The Phantom of the Opera “Brandspankingly brilliant” — ulittle126 [More reviews by this user] Anticipation Level: How excited (or not) I am to see this movie... If you love musicals and/or theatre then this is definately the film for you. I've been fortunate to see the Phantom of the Opera in the west end and comparing that version to the film one all I can say is that it is exactly the same high quality with the extra detail that only a film can add! There has been some complaints about the fact that it's too over the top and not as universal as Evita- It's set in an opera house- what else do you expect! This is nothing short of genius and after Christmas has been and gone I'm off to see it again and I can't wait! In essence it has everything the west end had witho exception only to the price!!
