| The Passion of the Christ |
 |
| Anticipation Level: |

| How excited (or not) I am to see this movie... |
|
Recently, I watched Mel Gibson's movie, The Passion of the Christ, and could not help but feel an overwhelming sense of sorrow and joy, knowing that Christ had given up his life to save all who believe in him.
As a Christian, I wanted to see this movie as I enjoy the resurrection story as told within the Bible throughout Mark and Luke. I am also a proud supporter of movies by Mel Gibson, and knew this movie would be worth watching.
When watching the movie, I was amazed at the story being so closely aligned with the Bible. I did not see any discrepancies, and as for it being Anti-Semitic, this concept was far from the truth, as it was showing the historical representations of the life of Christ and his tribulations.
I do feel upset with the constant bashing of the movie from the media, as they should view this before making judgement against the movie. It is a masterpiece, and is visually beautiful and realistic to the Bible.
As far as violence, I do feel that it was necessary. The violence inflicted on Jesus reveals his heroic decision to choose death, so that we may have everlasting life.
The movie is extremely emotional and graphic, but it is the Truth. Mel Gibson does not hide from this in any form. He merely paints this image of Christ on the screen for all to watch and understand.
I feel that The Passion of the Christ is a beautiful movie, and I feel that it will enrich the lives of those who view this. |
