David Duchovny reported on Fox's News Channel 11 Los Angeles (Where he was promoting his series Californication , at the time), on the 4th of this month, that it would be in that week 4th-11th that he, Gillian Anderson, Chris Carter, and Frank Spotnitz, would be getting feedback from Fox Studios as to whether or not the script had been accepted and that they would be given the greenlight.
Hmm...Seeing as how it's almost the end of September and that no new news has surfaced, does this mean that it's either been postponed or that the script has been rejected?
Well, one thing I know for sure is that the X-Files sequel wasn't listed among those of the press relaease regarding the movies the studios had greenlighted and planned to complete regardless of the upcoming Writer's Strike. then again, that list is incomplete from what I hear.
There's also the matter of the "X-Files: Ultimate Collection" which comes out as of the 27th of November. Fox may, or may not, be waiting to see the sales records on that to determine the public's interest on a five-year absent show having a sequel being brought back to the silver screen.
Mind you, this all specultion on my part, but, hey, what can I do? With the lack of information being let out (That and I refuse to pay for IMBD Pro's monthly bill), all i have left right now IS speculation.
