January 14, 2004 — The Associated Press reports that Alexander, which is being directed by Oliver Stone, will begin shooting scenes in Thailand this week. The film that looks at the life of Alexander the Great and stars Colin Farrell, Angelina Jolie, Val Kilmer and Anthony Hopkins, will utilize the landscape of Thailand, filling in for India, where parts of the story take place.
"It is a large-scale movie. We are shooting large-scale scenes here. We are involving elephants," said publicist Michael Singer. "We have a lot of participants, both in front of and in back of the camera, who are Thai."
Thailand will be the last place the production will film, having already visited Morocco and studios near London. Shooting began in September. |
