I'm very much pulled both ways about this film. I respect Oliver Stone, and it's obviously something he's passionatge about doing, so that's in its favor.
It looks great, they've captured the historical look of the armor and weapons, certainly.
Colin is certainly intense, and I kinda like the way they've portrayed him as a bit extreme in his genius (how else would you rule such a huge empire by age 24?)
On the other hand, I hate all the trailers, they are filled with pompous-sounding dialogue. When taken back-to-back, they really sound like a replay of a dozen similar films.
Angelina Jolie...hmmm nice eye candy, and she's certainly intense and beautiful. But what's with the goofy accent?
Come off it, what is she doing? Russian?
Just speak the lines. If they are good, you don't need to make them sound exotic.
However, I plan on seeing it. It looks like it will be a lot of sound and fury, but it might signify nothing. "All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us." |
