I noticed this debate going on in a lot of places lately and wondered what your take on this was. Many people seem to be upset that the cut footage would be replaced in while others are happy to have it back. Does a few cut scenes matter that much?

(Thinking back to the FotR dvd I'd have to say I'm for the cut versions to be put back in- adds more to a given story imho -and considering movies have certainly gotten longer I don't see the harm in it)

They should always replace the cut footage in any rerelease or DVD release. I agree with you, FOTR was great, but with the extra scenes it was unbelievable.

On the DVD I think they should give you the option of watching it with or without the cut scenes, 'cos a lot of the time the scenes are cut for a reason.

I think the main problem with putting them back in Alien is that at least one of them contradicts Aliens in a big way

i always thought that extra scenes were always great. it explains the stories alot better then the original cut. For example T2, Aliens, FOTR, and etc.....

When i buy a DVD i always see that the scenes that were cut out should have never been cut cause it does help the story along.

so i say "leave the scenes in!!" "We like them!!"
