June 3, 2003 — If you've seen the trailer already and still want more on the plot of Disney's next traditionally animated film, look no further! IGN has a preview of the movie and here's their brief description.
The film begins in a tiny village, when the Earth was young and ice still covered the land. A headstrong teenager named Kenai (voiced by Joaquin Phoenix) has issues with bears. They compete for the same food and land, loot his village, and they ruined his coming of age ceremony. When his oldest brother is lost in a battle with a ferocious grizzly, Kenai ignores all that he has been taught and sets out for revenge.
The Great Spirits take issue with Kenai's decision and change him into a bear, forcing him to examine the world through the eyes of his enemy. In his quest to regain his human form, Kenai enlists the help of a pesky little bear cub named Koda (voiced by The Bernie Mac Show's Jeremy Suarez). Over the course of his journey with Koda, Kenai is forced to question everything he knows and learns many important lessons about the true meaning of brotherhood.
