This is supposed to be a superhero movie based on a comic book not an ultraviolent ultra sexual movie. I took my son Timmy because it was his birthday and he wanted to see it. Even though it was rated R I though how bad could it be?
The violence was unnecessary. Rorshach could have solved his problems with love and sing-a-longs. The penis was way to distracting. And the sex scene with the Shrek song was pure smut. If I wanted to see porn, I'd watch the L-Word.
This movie is anti-family friendly pure filth and I for one thinks that all parents should ban together and boycott this so-called superhero film with its not a happy ending because since it is a movie based off a superhero comic book it needs to be kid-friendly and PG rated which it is clearly not.
Also, the Comedian wasn't funny. When I want humor I'll watch the Lawrence Welk Show, thank you very much.

This has got to be the best promo for the Watchmen movie that I've read so far.

I can't tell if your being serious or just kidding.

If your serious, might I suggest you actually READ a review or two, or even check out the source material? Really, do your homework. I'm appalled that just because you saw that it involved superheroes, that you assumed it would be kid friendly. If you want a sure fire family friendly superhero movie.... rent Zoom.

If your kidding.... pretty funny.

lol I understand how you feel.
But we take a different perspective.
Your obviously not a comic reader so I will just explain it to you.
In the world of comic books, there are various brands that do carry some material for "mature" readers. Generally those books do feature something that would be disturbing to some or inappropriate for kids like gore, sexuality, foul language etc

You need only to turn on the news to hear about ultra violence. You need only go to most any R Rated film and you may see a sex scene. I am sure you can understand that if such things can be depicted on TV and in movies, that occasionally they find their way into comics too. Comics are mass media. it's not so strange.
And in the case of Dr. Manhattan's blue man parts hanging out, I didn't exactly dig that myself, but it was done with authenticity in mind because that was how it was in the comic.

Sp the bottom line is that you should have checked into why it was rated R before you took your kid to see it. Then you would have known. duh

Yeah I was pissed too. Only it was a different movie. Maybe you recall it. It was called Spawn. When they cheesed it down to get a PG 13 in order to bring in a wider audience. They dumbed the movie down for kids. I was pissed. This is highly different. You knew what you were getting into the moment you saw the rating R. R meaning restricted to those under the age of 18. You made a conscious decision at that point to take your child into that movie. Therefore the film maker is not at fault for the movie you so dissaprove of your child watching. It is your fault for subjecting a child into seeing a movie without the maturity level of the watching audience. I want to see more films as they were intended. Not one's targeting kids in order to make more money. (Personal Note: Todd Macfarlane is the biggest SELL OUT of all time.) I want to see them as they author's intended. As I Read Them. As I love Them. And that will never happen as long as there are those like you. It boils down to freedom of expression. It boils down to freedom of speech itself. Love It Or Leave It.

You take your kid to an "R" rated movie and complain about the sexual content? I could have done without seeing a blueman's package too but it's an "R" rated movie and anything is possible.

This wasn't supposed to be a family friendly superhero film at all. Not all superheroes from the comics are family friendly and some of them are anti-heroes like an example the Punisher is one that kills or blows up the bad guys. Watchmen was a dark graphic novel and it was made for adults but not for kids. I never read the book and I knew the film was going to have strong language, graphic sexuality, nudity, strong violence, blood, and gore in it. Rated R films were made for mature audience not for children and a lot of them have strong language, graphic sexuality, nudity, strong violence, blood, and gore in them and you should have already knew that when you stepped in the theater. Check what the film is rated and what it retains in it before you see it if you have your kid with you. It is your own fault not the person that made the film.

A nine-year-old named Timothy... Hmm... Timothy... Biblical name... Probably one of the same types of people that would get confused visiting the site I mentioned earlier. You must avoid Wal-Mart. You can meet some interesting and terrifying people in these places... But I dunno, I suppose you're probably right, kind of silly to make up a screen name just to complain about an R movie.

If this is fake (which it probably is), funny...

If it isn't, you're a f***ing moron. Just because it's a super-hero flick, doesn't mean it's family-friendly fun. Want a family friendly one? Watch those abominations they call the Fantastic Four films.

Ok, some points;

1 - I don't think this has ever been more appropriate, but... "LOL!!!"

2 - You're an obvious fake.
(Using Shrek and L Word references, etc.
It's 2009! Who has a 9 year old son called Timmy?)

3 - If you're not a fake, you're a gigantic idiot.
("How bad could it be?"
It's a superhero film, therefore needs a happy ending = Obviously doesn't know what they're talking about and has never read Watchmen or ANY superhero comics before)

and 4 - How did you get a 9 year old kid into an R rated movie?

When I want humor I'll watch the Lawrence Welk Show, thank you very much.

and 4 - How did you get a 9 year old kid into an R rated movie?

apparently the ticket dude didnt do his job or maybe theyre able to accompany their children into such movies

i betcha they put a cup of hot chocolate into they're kids lap and when it spilled tried to sue the store

This message, like many others, is brought to you by the Christian Bale School of Anger Management.

Go f*** yourself.

Oh wait, that's probably how you ended up with a kid named Timmy....

Didn't you read the condom box?

Oh wait, you can't read because you obviously couldn't read the reasons behind the R rating when you and your kid happily skipped into Watchmen throwing flowers and thinking about the vaginas you showed him on the L-Word. Or was that Cloverfield...
