Review of The Tuxedo

SUBMITTED BY Kit-Kat

September 27, 2002 — First, I'm a Jackie Chan fan, so don't take this as Jackie bashing. The movie started with the typical type of overdone asian script villain, complete with overacting. But after 10 minutes it turned (mostly) into a regular U.S. production type movie.

There was the humor that you would expect from a Jackie Chan movie, but the movie tried too hard for a laugh in many parts. Sure, there was fighting, and maybe I just have to appreciate that Jackie is geting older, but I missed all those crazy and dangerous stunts. There was a hint of the old acrobatic fights, but it was barely enough to whet my appetite. The plot and storyline line? Let's face it, if you were concerned about them, then you shouldn't be going to see a Jackie Chan movie. I think the outtakes at the end were my favorite parts. It's a fun movie to see, just don't expect too much.
