An Answer to 'Why Did The Name Change From Highbinders to Medallion?"

SUBMITTED BY LClem

August 2, 2003 — According to Jackie CHan's Official Website: "The movie was initially named "Highbinders", but due to its inauspicious Chinese name - was later renamed by EMG to "The Medallion" on the advice of a renowned Thai fortune teller. As the Ambassador of Tourism of Hong Kong, Chan thinks the new name in Chinese, 'Reborn of the Dragon', is very meaningful to Hong Kong as 'Dragon' represents Hong Kong, and hopefully it will have a better future after SARS."
