SUBMITTED BY Scooby August 27, 2003 — Director Mathieu Kassovitz spoke to SCI FI about Gothika, and the movie's star, Halle Berry: "She brought her personality, first of all," Kassovitz said in an interview. "And ... everything is about her. It's all on her character." Kassovitz added, "It's a psychological thriller mixed with a ghost story. So it's all about her. And scary movies are scary only if the main character is scared and if you can relate to this character. So she brought her own humanity and a lot of professionalism and a lot of energy for everybody in the crew, for me and for the other actors and all the crew members. We got a lot from her."
