War of the Worlds “Spielberg Rules” — Dramawasp [More reviews by this user] Anticipation Level: How excited (or not) I am to see this movie... From the book to the trailers I have been excited to see this. Movie Review: My thoughts on this movie... I believe that this movie portrayed H.G. Wells trumendously. I don't think Chris Banks, who wrote a review about how the movie was not as violent as it needed to be, doesn't know anything about the book. The only thing that the movie didn't follow in doing was explain in full detail about how the aliens were stopped. Yes, Morgan Freeman did act as a narrator and mentioned how the smallest animals killed off the aliens. However, H.G. Wells' words mentioned more on how the human species is soooo dirty that our germs killed off the aliens. Also, the book takes place in countryside UK. Overall the movie is worth anything, maybe not an acting award. But this movie isn't for the acting but for the phenomenon of the imagination of H.G. Wells.
