later Robbie could even join in the fight & we find out what happens to him during the time he disappears after he goes over the hill. So the movie could be parallel & actually cross over at times.

The movie could be more of a war movie & show cities being flattened by the tripods.

& we could finally get to see what is going on over that hill

Uh....no. The solider stand point would be to made out to be too much like Independence Day. This movie doesn't need a sequel. It tied things up nicely in the end. But I still haven't figured out what killed the aliens off. I know water was a primary reason for them showing up, but why did they die off?

It was bacteria that killed them. The Aliens did not have an immune system to fight bacteria, so they became sick & then died. (as stated in the book, Jeff Waynes musical version & in the 1953 movie version)

Sure, the war style alien vader movie has been done before, but so has the typical Romantic comedies movies. Romantic comedies have been done MILLIONS of time & usually have the same basic story of Boy meets girl, girl leaves boys, boy chases girl blah blah blah. Why not have a few more alien invader movies? What would you prefer: a sloppy love story like Sleepless in Seattle/Fools rush in or WOW/Independance day?

More alien invasion movies!! yerrrr!

Yea I watched the making of the tripods on the DVD and it said that too. Pretty interesting stuff. But as for seeing more alien movies, I dunno. It's kinda hard to reinvent the genre and make aliens more menancing or different from the rest. so eventually this genre will die down. But I do think they could do somethin new to bring a breath of fresh air into the movies.
