Put it in at 10 last night and I didnt finish until 4 (with special features).

some amazing stuff on the dvd. alot of on the set stuff (production diaries) alot of the sets being built and alot of inteterviews with spielberg on his views of each scene and set.

only negitive is there wasnt enough on the CGI to to my on those "Pre-vis" things.

between this dvd and the star wars one, they could make a 5 hour film about pre-vis..lol

I enjoyed the link to the 1953 movie. 'Revisiting the aliens' was probably my favourite special feature.

I also enjoyed 'Designing the Enemy' though it could have gone more into the design.

I thought they had covered the CGI quite well.

The scoring was interesting. It is great how they worked the music in with some scenes. They did a great job with the music & tension when the tripod lifts from the ground. They did rush parts though & bits of the music were done without even seeing any footage. The whole movie seemed overly rushed, which is a shame.

The only thing that I was dissappointed about was that there were no deleted scenes!!!!! I thought there was a 2 minute scene where the Tripods take humans out of a building?? It looks like there will be no directors cut extended edition!

Yeah, it was interesting. And I did not know that the original main characters from the old "War of the Worlds" had cameos at the end of the movie.
