I know that this film was Ray point of view so we only saw what he did and he was a scared basment hiding hillbilly.

the cgi in this was the best ever made. I think some huge battle scene would have been great. to still be blown away by epic battles is something i wish for everyday

thunderchild would have been good aswell

yea i totally agree. if there was 1 thing i felt missing it was a big battle scene. i really was wishing that Ray decided to look over the hill and then we see what was going on. Then again it brings suspense and mystery that we didnt see it, but it still would have been great.

Agreed. Even the second and third times didn't change my severe CRAVE to see what was going on at the other side of the hill. I wanted to look so bad that I even convinced myself that I would be given the chance and that for any repeat viewings, the camera would move just wee bit more. lol yes, quite pathetic I know. But I would have LOVED to see what was going on!!

Thankfully, though, there still was the scene when the Tripod's head emerges from behind the fire right in front of Cruise and Dakota, followed the by the others. You could see enormous flames not affecting them, and the weapons of the choppers bouncing off from their shields. So that was at least a SMIDGEN of what was going on at the other side of that hill.

Another thing that would have made it better is not such a rushed ending. Don't get me wrong, I was just fine with the ending and liked it a lot. I just wish we arrived there later.

I also got sorta ticked when we see that Robbie survived. I mean why is it that the protaganist and his family is unharmed while the rest of the world has to suffer. I mean Ogilvy mentioned how he lost his whole family, so why couldnt Ray lose one of his kids? It would have made me feel more for his character, and more for each family on Earth.

i found the ending to be unfullfilling. i mean you have this huge suspense going on, and then suddenly, everything is dead, it seemed that those scenes where on a tight budget, so they had to cut from them

I don't think this was meant to be an action movie. It was a survival movie and showed how Ray and his family survived. The one thing I was irritated about was Spielberg said Ray was a reflection of what was happen to humanity. So I would have liked to have seen Robby die...I know it's morbid but that would have added some shock value.

The battle sceen on the other side of the hill was spectacular. I loved how Spielberg worked that, I mean that was just perfect. The one epic battle scene should have been the Thunderchild. That would have been perfect for this movie. And they shouldn't have rushed the ending as bad as they did.

Yeah. Although he was hot, he needed to die. That was way too anti-climatic. I was a little disappointed.

What would have been better for the ending was, say, Ray and Rachel make it to Boston, but the Tripods are still attacking. Everybody is running, screaming, etc. Somehow (use imagination) Ray and Rachel get cornered in front of a tripod. It see's them and is about to use the heat ray on them, but then it begins to shut down. The tripod begins wobbling, along with the others following in the same way. Ray is like "HUH!?!?!" and we see the tripods each fall down onto the ground. Then they can still use the part about the birds, and the bazookas to see if the shields are down. It wouldnt have been so anti-climactic. Man, I should be a screenwriter.

the movie was spectacular. in my opinion, the best big budget movie of the year.

the movie ended too soon in my opinion. but everything was brilliant. acting was incredible, and the movie had me before the aliens even appeared. it was just gorgeous.

Watch something in the way it was created. never assume a remade version is better if u havent seen the original

Bruce Banner:"You found me"
Betty Ross: "You werent hard to find"
Bruce Banner: "Yes I was"

The coolest line in an incredible movie

yeah, but then it would have made the movie pointless..think about it, the film is about ray protecting his kids.
