It's not surprising that so many critics bashed this film. Sandler plays his usual role, a guy you can't help but feel sorry for. But the strength of the movie lies in a surprisingly good script and some great moments of classic Sandler comedy. Barrymore, as in The Wedding Singer, is Sandler's perfect compilment, and the film on the whole comes very close to some of Sandler's best works. See my website www.ecritiques.com for my full review.
