That doesn't bode well for a sequel/making it a trilogy. Twohy said in an interview that the second weekend numbers were going to be key in whether or there would be sequels.
Yeah that's kind of the way I felt about Back to the Future when I was a kid. There was 4 years in between the first and the second one and most people thought there would never be a sequel.
But then again these numbers may not mean to much. The first one only made $39.2 million. But then again the budget for the first one was only $23 million. I'm guessing it will all depend on what it's total Box office take is and how well it does on DVD
Latest figures I read were $100 million for production, and $140 million in box office sales, but the DVD did very well.
I want to see the Underverse, but I really hope to god that they fire the two ideots who ruined the fights scenes with camera shake/confusion/audience disassociation, and the absurd flash lighting. Really ruined the first twenty minutes of the movie.
For some excellent fight scene filming, see Gladiator; now there was some quality!
