I read an interview by David Thewlis. He said that it would be very difficult for Daniel,
Emma and Rupert to have an acting career after Harry Potter. He said that he could imagine Emma and Rupert moving on. But I would be very hard for Daniel to be in another good film after HP. What do you guys think?

I think ,yes, the way dan acts he wont get into another movie. I hope he reads this type of news and tries to improve his acting for the fouth film.

If he doesn't get another good then I don't think that it is because he doesn't act good but because one will always remember him as Harry Potter.
But I don't think that this will be such a big problem because he is still young. I think in a few yeary he will look quite differnet.

I think Dan is really interested in writing and directing, so he may not act in too many more films, anyway.


Look at Christopher Reeve, though, he did lots of good moves (I think) after Superman, even though he is widly regarded as the greatest actor to put on the Superman suit. He's still thought of as Superman, but had a good career afterward.

Dan won't, necessarily, burn out as an actor.

no offense, but they're internationally famous actors. i'm a little bit more worried about where I'M gonna be ten years from now! those kids have more money than i might ever see in my life!

Yeah, Dan stinks as an actor (not to mention Emma and Rupert)... so I could definitely see his career coming to a suddent HULT after the series is done and over with.

If he does get any roles, it would only be because he is recognized as Harry Potter.

I also think this is why all the girls like him... I think that no matter who they got to play Harry Potter... you would think of them as being "sooooo hot".

The only child actor in the series that has any real future is Tom Felton.

Well, in Dan's defense, his acting is definitely improving. I actually thought he was good in PoA, which is a first. That said, I don't think he'll have a big acting career after Harry Potter, but like Parselmouth said, he seems more interested in writing and directing, so he could have a career ahead of him there. Either way, thanks to his salaries on these films, he won't be suffering.

Emma has grown as an actor. She WILL move on . I don't think Rupert has that much talent, but he's improving. Daniel...is ok, but he will always be remembered as Harry Potter.

mark hamil syndrome... he might be subjected to acting in paraodies of himself... "where are they now?" specials, etc etc.

carrie fisher actually is a pretty acknowledged writer if he wants to go that route. he'd have to break out big time if he wants to not be known as "the harry potter kid."

Hmmm, really? To each his own but honestly I thought that he was the worst of the kids. He was nothing like the drawling, slimey Malfoy from the books. Almost every line he spoke sounded unnatural, like he was spitting them out.

I personally think that Rupert is the one with the biggest chance of making it big after HP is over. Dan and Emma seem to be getting the most attention laetly which might actually be a blessing in disguise. In the future, he might not be stuck with the label Ron Weasley. Just look at the Star Wars analogy again. Mark Hamill got most of the attention since he had the lead but never really went on to any big roles after that. Harrison Ford on the other hand, Han Solo the sidekick, went on to have a great career. I can see the same thing happening with Rupert.

In Dan's defense, Mark Hamill was never that good of an actor in the first place. IMO Dan has gotten better with each film and was excellent in PoA, much more natural than in SS and CoS (the better dialogue probably helped too). It might be tough but if he's determined I think that he could go on to have a respectable career.

I can't imagine Dan landing any roles after Harry Potter, because I personally feel that he doesn't have that much when it comes to acting to get him any. Even though he has been improving with each film, I still am not sure of him. However, I could imagine him doing future things behind the screen, such as writing or directing. As has been pointed out many times before, his international fame as Harry Potter would also contribute to him not being to successful in the future.

I do certainly find the Harrison Ford example mentioned quite interesting. With that in mind, I'm sure that Rupert or Emma will be able to have more of a chance in the future. I also feel that their talent surpasses Daniel's (especially Rupert's, who's I feel is being ignored by too many critics), and thus their chances are increased.

If wants to continue as an actor, he'll have to find a good role fast after HP that can show any versatility that he has. Otherwise, he'll always be HP. Same goes for all of the lead kids, I'm afraid...

Well, we would never know.

If Daniel attends more acting workshop, he'd probably improve his acting particularly feelings like anger, sadness and naughtiness. But one would never know.

If he uses the styles of Barrymore, he'll stay for sure. Like, you know, he'd have a hiatus. Secretly hits the gym and comes back with a different image. You know, when he comes back, female species would be surprise and they're gonna love that surprise making other male species envy him.

I think Dan is a good actor! Especially in POA. He's much more natural and I think he was a lot more like Harry in this one. As for the future, I think If he really wants to continue acting, he could. He'd just need a really good role to get past HP. Plus, grown up with a new haircut and no glasses, he wouldn't be HP. (As for Mark H., he wasn't a very good actor anyway. ) Well, sorry, I'm done now

I think Daniel is getting better as an actor, because he finally got a director that made him act, instead of one that made him react! I think that if he keeps getting directors that make him pull out a performance, he'll do well. He did really good in "David Copperfield", & I kind of expected that to go into the HP movies, but Chris Columbus seemed more interested in getting the kids to just react to everything, instead of acting to it. I know on the first one, he more than likely did it to hide their inexperience, but he should have made them start to earn their acting chops with COS. It'll be interesting to see what Mike Newell does with them.

I know same here. Daniel's worth 10 million he doesn't have to work for the rest of his life if he doesn't want.

i believe he'll do well after HP. He might go on to directing or producing when he's older and he's interested in music. I don't think HP is the last time we'll see Dan Radcliffe. He's learning so much each time he gets a new director.

I totally agree with Padfoot_Pride, man. Dan really needs help to cry 'cos it looked fake when he pretended to cry in PoA.

I think Rupert will have a lot of offers to be in comedy movies, man. He has a good sense of humor and I think Tom Felton was great as well.

Emma Watson was great in PoA and I think she has improved a lot since her first two films of 'Harry Potter' - but she is not better than the girl who portrayed Wendy in 'Peter Pan'. I think Emma needs to improve more to be above that girl.

Oh I thought that was great....comparing Rupert with Harrison! Hey, it could happen.

Anyways, I do think that any of the stars could go on to do what they want (in either acting or other careers).

They are still kids, and I know they'll be getting better as the prgress. My only wish at the moment is that they stay with the series for the full stretch

EXACTLY... he's a child, and he will grow out of his HP look.

jeese people. He's a better actor than marc hamil in the first place and much better looking so im not worried. Besides being the original harry potter aint that bad of a carreer especially when after the first 3 movies your the second richest teenager in britan after the prince of england.. so if he does all 7 he'd have quite a respectable career.
Plus he could be a writer or director... but i think he is a fantastic actor. He isn't a halie jole osmand or whatever that kids name is ... but he's talented and he'll do fine.

oh and as for "i hope he reads these and improves his acting" as an actor ... i find that offensive. No actor is like "oh **** im not good let me step it up" you always try your best and you can only do as well as you can for that moment. Its not like he has even had time to have professional training in acting. He has directors to help him. Also... where on earth do you see that he's a bad actor.. sure he could improve in some ways... but he is hillarious and is so honest and open... he's great. If he was horrible he couldn't have carried 3 movies on his shoulders.. do you realize how much this kid works? He is in every scene of every movie, and if you've ever made any kind of art, theatre or film you know how much work that takes.

Wow have you got it wrong. I mean not to say you can't have an opinion but when you say all three kids are bad actors.. you're just being opinionated for opinionated's sake. Rupert is probably better than daniel (when he gets the opportunity. like in SS/PS) Daniel is beautiful yes but if he were a bad actor do you really think everyone would find him attractive. TALENT is attractive not just looks.

Emma did fabulously in the most recent movies and the only reason she was disliked in the first two were because she was given bad direction.. (i.e. to play stuck up instead of just an know-it-all)

Tom Felton has said he has no interest in being an actor and wants to be a fisherman... so.. you kinda have it flip flopped.

Acting is reacting... thats what we learn in acting school.

But what your saying is true but not phrased correctly. Alfonso made them realize they can have their OWN reactions. Chris COlumbus SHOWED them how to react ... they weren't ACTUALLY reacting to what the other person was saying they were reacting how they thought they should.

IN this one they were much more themselves...

as for crying... dan didn't have to be crying. and when she pulled the cloack off him his eyes were bloodshot... he didn't need actual tears. I can assure you if they had wanted real tears they would have given him something to make him cry if he couldn't himself... it was fine.

I think Rupert will have a lot of offers to be in comedy movies, man. He has a good sense of humor and I think Tom Felton was great as well.

Emma Watson was great in PoA and I think she has improved a lot since her first two films of 'Harry Potter' - but she is not better than the girl who portrayed Wendy in 'Peter Pan'. I think Emma needs to improve more to be above that girl.

That is so right. Actually, the way Daniel does his crying thing, it was not convincing enough. And his anger was not convincing as well.

Yeah, Rachel Hurd-Wood (Wendy) is a better actress than Emma. But I hope these two girls would become friends.

harsh.... well if you think about he might be right.... he is known as "Harry Potter" i think it would be difficult for him to be known as something else... but he can always be a director which hes always wanted to be and finish school and go to college

i think that emma would have a better career in acting than rupert and daniel... dont ask me why
