October 29, 2002 — 'Mr Matrix' checked out some filming for The Cat in the Hat, and sent in this report:

My mom lives nearby the set so I stopped by and saw some scenes being filmed. mike myers aka cat in the hat, was hiding in the city with the little boy and girl. the scene I saw is where they ran from behind the mailbox into a store. I also saw some of the props being used in the move, such as the cat in the hat's vehicle. there was two of them, one of them wrecked and the other in perfect condition, with crew memebers doing touch ups. luckily i was able to hope the fence and sit in the wrecked car without being caught (you'll see the pic soon).
