August 17, 2002 — Coming Attractions reports that work is currently being done on The Cat in the Hat. They mention that the set is currently being constructed outside Simi Valley, CA. "The set is HUGE comprising of about ten two and three story buildings and takes up a rather large part of a local hillside," says 'Link'.

Another unnamed scooper mentioned that, "Downtown Pomona is being repainted to accommodate filming of Cat in the Hat. The storefronts are on 2nd St. at Garey Ave by the old Fox Theatre that the city just bought in the Arts/Antique District."
