Am I the only one here who thinks they've made Cat in The Hat too childish?

I mean, I understand that this movie is intended for kids, but I think they could've really adapted it to our society. I could see this movie taking place in realistic settings and areas.
Perhaps in a Seattle Apartment Complex? Where the kids are left to stay, but since it's an up scale apartment, they aren't allowed to touch anything? Then comes Cat in The Hat? I think that would've made a great movie for kids and maybe adults.

I really like the idea of Cat in The Hat, but it all just seems aimed too much toward kids.
