THIRD TOMB RAIDER MOVIE IN THE WORKS
December 18th 2006
Eidos executive Ian Livingstone has confirmed a third Tomb Raider motion picture is in the pipeline, following months of speculation that SCi Entertainment Group - parent owners of Eidos plc - has been negotiating with Paramount Pictures to continue Lara Croft's silver-screen adventures.
According to an interview with British video-game magazine Eurogamer, Livingstone also reveals information on next generation Lara Croft, and has likened the detail of future Tomb Raider video-games to "like watching television."
"I've seen some of the in-game models and it's just like watching television; if you felt you were in love with Lara Croft previously, you ain't seen nothing yet. You'll be drooling when you see the new Lara as she appears in the next iteration." Livingstone said.
On a third motion picture, Livingstone says: "There's a possibility - we've been talking to Paramount, who've agreed to assign a scriptwriter. That's nowhere near the green-light process but it's a very healthy start to have a scriptwriter which they're going to pay serious amounts of money to write the first script."

TOMB RAIDER 3 TO SHOOT IN ARGENTINA?
July 2nd 2006
A New Jersey pushcart manufacturer has lent further credence to the making of a third Tomb Raider motion picture during an interview with regional magazine North Jersey. Push-Cart International manufactures about 100 carts a year in factories on Van Houton Avenue in Clifton and on Long Island.
Having just produced a series of carts that will feature in the upcoming Sony pic Spiderman 3, Dave Martina says his next Hollywood venture is supplying carts for the shoot of "Tomb Raider 3'' in Argentina. "That will start whenever that Angelina Jolie thing is over,'' he said.
The previous two Tomb Raider movies have grossed more than $450m (#262m, E383m) at the box office and are based on the video game of the same name. Sources in Hollywood say negotiations had already started between Paramount and SCI - who acquired rival British publisher Eidos earlier this year - for the latest movie.
Angelina Jolie had already expressed an interest in returning as Lara Croft despite previously dismissing a third picture following domestic indifference to Tomb Raider: The Cradle Of Life. Chris Barrie has also registered his support to resume his role as Lara's fumbling butler Hilary.
SCI Entertainment Group is likely to negotiate a tougher deal for its property under chief executive Jane Cavanagh, who is one of Britain's most successful female executives. Eidos reportedly collected only $1 million from Paramount Pictures prior to production of Lara Croft Tomb Raider.

Angelina Jolie will reprise her role as video-game heroine Lara Croft in a third Tomb Raider movie if the success of Tomb Raider Legend warrants investment from Paramount. "Paramount has optioned it and Angelina has agreed to star in the third." Eidos' Ian Livingstone told British newspaper The Express.
