March 25, 2007 — "TNMT" was the number one film at the box office, earning an estimated $25.45 million. The $30 million CGI film, which reintroduces a new generation to the ninja turtles (and reminds an older generation of being kids again), was distributed by Warner Bros. and the Weinstein Co. As for a sequel, Harvey Weinstein had this to say, "It's sequel time, dudes." "300" fell to number two with $20.5 million. The film was number one for the previous two weekends, and has made $162.4 million since opening.
For other films debuting this weekend, "Shooter", starring Mark Wahlberg, opened at number three with a strong $14.5 million. New Line's "The Last Mimzy" found itself in fifth place with $10.2 million. The horror film "The HIlls Have Eyes 2" found some viewers this weekend coming in at number seven with $10 million. "Reign Over Me," starring Adam Sandler and Don Cheadle, opened quietly in eight place with $8 million.
