February 1, 2002 — Anderson Jones received an e-mail from Ed Sanchez, cocreator of the Blair Witch, which gave an update on the prequel. The e-mail also stated that Heart of Love, their latest project, has hit a snag:
"Dan and I have decided to start talks with Artisan about the Blair prequel," writes Sanchez. "He and I are going to my land in West Virginia at the end of January to spend at least a week out there in the woods at night, trying to scare the hell out of each other." Their plan, so far, is to revisit some historic sights in the area and in Salem, Massachusetts, to bewitch themselves about the Blair prequel.
"After that, who knows?" says Sanchez. "We'll see where Heart of Love is, but if we come up with some good ideas for the prequel, we're probably going to start on the script."
