I was watching the news today, and there was a story about the Serial Sniper in the US - and I was struck by a comparison to Red Dragon.
Apparantly, this sniper has left a tarot card behind with the words "I Am God" written on it. I was reminded of Dr Lecter's words, "If one does what God does enough times, one will become as God is." This sniper has killed people going about their everyday business, just as God does ... maybe the cops should pay a visit to Baltimore Hospital for the Criminally Insane ...
I saw the movie again tonight, and I thought about what you said. Remember when Will is briefing the police in Atlanta and the cop asks him why the killer won't stop? Will says, "Because it makes him God; would you give that up?"
It reminded me so much of this sniper. I just hope that it has nothing to do with the movie. That would really be horrible.
