When I read these books as a teenager, the violence didn't bother me, but now it does.

How violent is it?

Specifically, if memory serves, the book depicts a scene in which the main character is disembowelled while catching Lector. Is this shown? I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT want to see that on film!

[SPOILER] No, they do not show Will being disembowelled. The violence in this one is nothing like Hannibal. [/SPOILER]

He was never disembowelled in the novel either.
