If you really want to know rent the original movie.
In the TV show it was the same crow from the first movie, and it was more about redemption opposed to revenge. As for the face, in the first movie it was make up, (dont remember the 2nd), and in the third movie it was burned on to his face.
TV it was like the buffy vamires they could just turn into one.
Dude rent/buy them. The first is the best, Brandon lees Last movie.
My fav part now pay attention. Bruce lee Died during the filming of Game of Death, (he did all action seens and then got stand ins that wore huge sunglasses) and in that movie he plays an actor. As his character is to be shot (for a movie they are filming) an extra/assasin switches his bullet, and his character is supposed to be dead. Now Brandon Lee was fatily shot in during the filming of The Crow. Now is that not weird or what.

well you kind of got the wrong answers from this guy so let me redo it, adding my answers.
Who is he? When someone dies, the Crow(the bird) has the power to bring that person back to set the wrong things right.
What does he do? Avenges his death and the death of his loved one(s).
Is he evil? No.
Does he work for dark forces or holy forces? Works for no one.
What powers does he have? Doesn't really have powers. The only thing is, he is dead, therefore he cannot be killed. He CANNOT turn into the Crow(bird). The bird itself is a whole different thing. It leads him and shows him to where he must go. BUT, he can be killed or hurt if the bird is killed. once the bird dies, the man becomes mortal again.
Who is playing him in the movie? Well let me break this down by each individual movie. The TV series was bs so no one really needs to know about that. Also, it is a different character in each movie. The Crow-Brandon Lee(RIP)-he will always be the perfect crow, The Crow: City of Angels-Vincent Perez-i guess he was ok, The Crow: Salvation-Eric Mabius-he was also decent but the supporting cast(kirsten dunst) outdid him, The Crow: Wicked Prayer-Edward Furlong-yes he is the kid from T2. he should do a good job and the cast looks promising. hopefully itll get a theatre release.
And is Crow a really cool charcter? Absolutly!!!!! Go buy The Crow and at least rent the other two.

The Crow is my all time favorite movie...
I own the 2 disc dvd as well as the orginal comic book (hard bastered to find where i live)
Bradon Lee did an incredible job as Eric Draven, and was saddened from his death, I would've loved to cn the movie cometely done by him...
Orginal Crow definitly the best
City of Angels was ok, to clear up bout the face, in the 2nd his face was painted on by Sarah (who was the grl in the 1st movie), she kne what he was, and what he was ment to do, saw she drew on his face as she remembered it on Eric's
Salvation I didn't like as much, felt it was to slow and the action was just dull
I've actually been on the ban-wagon bout the 4th, I was getting sick of all of em, but I have had a change of heart over the last few months
