November 18, 2002 — Sally Field is in negotiations to star as Congresswoman Rudd in Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde. Production is set to begin this month, with Field -- whose dates are still being worked out -- due to begin lensing her part in December.

In "Blonde," Field will star as a politico who befriends Witherspoon's Elle Woods and winds up as a mentor to her. The duo's relationship is tested, however, when they must battle it out over a piece of animal rights legislation.
