Ok...the movie was excellent and there is DEFINATELY room for a sequel. I just hope they don't spoil it like so many other movies that have been hits turned bad by crap sequels

I agree with Scooby Snacks. LB was a great movie and that's really cool that they're making a sequel. I just hope the don't mess it up because it is a great movie!

I can't believe what I'm hearing... Legally Blonde was, by definition, a terrible movie. Not a hint of originality in the entire 90 minute production, the movie scraped the girl-power barrel to come up with a tired, well-used "believe in yourself" message. Witherspoon's character is entirely devoid of charm or charisma - are we supposed to support a pretty rich girl who's making a mockery of everything she gets herself involved in (including the American legal system, as if we needed any more convincing that it was totally screwed) because she's foolish enough to believe that her equally ignorant ex boyfriend is her one true love? There is no reason why this character should conquer, or why we should want her to. A more satisfying ending would have eventuated if Elle completely failed at law school, and realised that her outdated notions of love and herself were indeed redundant! Her "skills" as a lawyer are based entirely on her knowledge of beauty products - would that really be enough to see her through law skill? It is a symptom of our automaton society that mass hype can convince audiences to side with a character that, in real life, we would all rightfully detest.

Although, if one was to take a postmodernist view, Legally Blonde could be seen as a scathing satire on American education system's "Old Boy" psyche, and the American legal system's (and, indeed, American society as a whole) favouring of style over substance.

We all go a little mad sometimes.

What the movie is saying is that, you don't need to look like a total unfashioned, deformed loser just to succeed in the things that you want to do and dream to be.

Take things lightly :-)
You are way too serious.

sixfootmonkey- dude..chill!!! It's not supposed to be a great american film. It's just a light hearted film that your not really supposed to think about. It's just to amuse you and entertain you. Oh, by the way..just because she's a fashion consious blonde doesn't mean that she's dumb and should have failed. The character was very smart, people just judged her by her apperance and not what was inside, which was pretty much the whole message of the movie. And, it's just a movie, it's not abig deal. If you don't think there should be a sequel..then don't see it!!

Amy:I don't wanna die. I've never even been kissed. I've waited my whole to be kissed, and what if I miss it?
Laurie: I tell you what. I promise to kiss you before you die. ~ Little Women

THE BRIDE: It was not my intention to do this in front of you. For that I'm sorry. But you can take my word for it, your mother had it coming. When you grow up, if you still feel raw about it, I'll be waiting.

And with that apology, statement, and invitation, The Bride walks out the kitchen side door, leaving the little girl to her mourning.

Yeah I know my screen name sucks.

To me this is like them making a Total Recal 2. If any of u have ever seen Total Recal you know it would be pointless to make a sequel, there is just no way the movie would make sense, what would the plot be, its just crazy and a waste of money. Saying that, thats how I fill about this sequel.

Well I don't care what you guys think. I'm still gonna go see it. LB was a good movie, not great but good, and I'm hoping that LB2 will be good if not better.

THIS POST IS IN RESPONSE TO sixfootmonkey.

Buddy, you have a stick up your butt that is entirely too big. It's truly sad that you're complaining about this movie making light of situations - in the world we live in that's what we need! Something soft-hearted and pleasant to lighten the moment and just make us smile. If we can't be optimisic about the awful things going on in the world how are we ever going to deal w/ them hmm? You need some coaching on how to enjoy the simple things in life. Movies are meant as a form of entertainment and if Legally Blonde 2 will entertain and help distract even one person from their stressful life than the movie was worth it. It's no wonder our world is in such a sticky situation... it's run by stubborn men life yourself. If you don't have anything nice to say than don't say anything at all. grump.

love always:

THANK YOU!!!!!! I couldn't of said it better. Is it just impossible for a person to go to the movie & not try to read more into the movie then just for the enjoyment of watching the movie.... And just because someone enjoys this type of movie does not mean they don't enjoy movie with a message......

you have got to lighten up. not all movies are going to be the kind that leave you scratching your chin on the way out of the theater, contemplating the deep and powerful meanings. just enjoy those ninty minutes as time that you don't have to be doing something worse. chin sratching is not the only sign of a good movie.
