They were both pretty bad, but at least Rocky 5 was a bit less rediculous and actually fit in with the other films.

Rocky 1: Local bum gets a chance to show the world he isn't a nobody.

Rocky 2: Local bum turned hero gets another shot at the title, this time winning.

Rocky 3: Boxer is now in the spotlight. Loses his hunger and hence loses his title. He has to refind that hunger so he can reclaim the title.

Rocky 4: Naturally, the boxer then helps end the cold war by fighting a giant steroid enhanced monster. The crowd in the USSR chant his name, so you knew it was only a matter of time till the Wall fell.

Rocky 5: Aging boxer wasn't wise with his money and is now broke and back in his old hometown. He tries being a tainer for a new kid. The kid doesn't want to be famous simply for having a famous trainer. He challenges his old trainer. Rocky, on the streets of Philly, fights time and aging as he shows he is still a champion in his heart.

Okay, so which of these films doesn't fit in with the life cycle of a boxer?
The rise? The fall from grace? The bankrupcy? Ending the Cold War?

Yeah, that's right, ending the Cold War.

That is the single most retarded film I have ever seen, and I have seen both sequels to Attack of the Killer Tomatoes, so that's saying something.

Best of all, Tomatoes 3 was in the requisite 3-D.

Rocky 4 was soo much better than part 5. I liked part 5 but the whole USA vs. USSR thing in part 4 was awsome so im going with part 4.

Yeah, right. Longshot, you are right about a great many things, but this time you are dead wrong. Rocky 4 is at least the 2nd best rocky movie if not the best. It's his greatest triumph and therefore the greatest and most exciting movie. Sequels should build upon the last movie. Rocky 2 is good because he goes from just tying the champ to beating him. Rocky 3 is a little bit of a let down because he looses to Mr. T, and that's just silly. Rocky 4 is AWESOME because he beats a seemingly invincible Soviet who even killed Apollo. Rocky 5 is the biggest let down of sequel history because he goes from the greatest sports hero of all time to being a bankrupt loser, which is way more unrealistic in my opinion. Plus #5 is dumb because he never gets in a ring or puts on gloves in the entire movie: Talk about not fitting with the other movies. Plus, Adrian is such a B in that movie. And his son with that gay ear-ring... And finally, Rocky 6 is going to be AWESOME because a majorly old-dude, underdog is gonna beat the champ again!

Rocky 4 is horrible. First, it has absolutely nothing to dowith the rest of the series. It is a celuloid nonsequiter.
Second, Dolph Lundrun is a cartoon. But he wasn't enough so they also added that crazy tall Amazon chick. The film was so over the top rediculous it's not even funny.
Why did they stop with him fighting Drako? Why didn't they just have him march off with the crowd of Soviets behind him cheering his name? He could have marched to the Wall and punched it, bringing freedon to East Berlin.

Seriously, the film was a cartoon.

Give me a break Longshot!! As much as you think this movie was a cartoon. And I seriously doubt that when you watched this movie for the first time that you had your arms crossed and watched it in sheer dissapointment. But lets say you did. Are you seriously going to sit there and tell us that you were not crushed to see Creed get killed?? Or that you were not in the least bit hyped up to see Rocky kick Dragos Ass in the finally of the film!!!???

Cmon, you might think the movies plot was silly but you cant tell me that it didnt provide any excitement what so ever!!???

I agree with you that the synopsis was a bit out of wack, but the movie stilll kicked major ass!!

Easily Rocky 4, Apollo was a great friend to Rocky, losing him and avenging his death is a classical plot. Better than anything Rocky 5 had to offer, although the Cold War thing was ridiculous... probably just trying to relate to actual events? Whatever. It has positives whereas Rocy 5 didn't.

Plus, Rocky 4 has some of the best training montages: Running up that mountain and doing those upside-down sit-ups ...so cool.

Absolutely not. I loved the movie. Of course. I was like 10 at the time and used to think Masters of the Universe was a great movie. I was an idiot kid who hadn't heard of John Ford, Frank Capra, Francis Ford Copola, Martin Scorsese or Victor Fleming. I knew as much about movies as I did about nuclear physics. But then I grew up and learned about movies, have watched thousands of them ranging from every decade and every genre. Now I can say with confidence that the film was a joke.

And yes, when I was 10, I was crushed that Apollo died. Again, I was 10. I was crushed that the A-Team ended.

Yeah I also found that pretty lame... a boxing movie in which Rocky doesn't actually participate in a boxing event? Why the hell make the movie? Thats like making a Superman movie and not having him use any of his powers.

Having him go at it in a street fight is even worse, that is not how a graceful athlete acts. It goes against everything the other four movies communicate about sportsmanship, honor, working hard, and so forth.
