May 6, 2007 — "Spider-Man 3" was the number one movie (no surprise), smashing box office records with $148 million. That was enough to beat the previous record held by "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest", which earned $135.6 million in three days. Spidey has already earned $227 million overseas, bringing its total to $375 million. In other words, it has already made a profit (estimates placing the movie's production cost at $258 million). Coming in at distant number two was "Disturbia", which earned an estimated $5.7 million. The film has made $59.9 million in three-weeks. "Fracture" was number three at the box office with $3.4 million. "Lucky You" opened this weekend, starring Eric Bana and Drew Barrymore, and earned a dismal $2.5 million, placing it at number six. It's a shame that Warner Bros. decided to release the film against Spidey.
