Okay, I just got back watching it for the 3rd time.
The first time I saw it, the day it came out, I didn't hate it, but I was very dissapointed. Funny thing is, 15 minutes into it and I had a feeling i wasn't gonna like it.
The second time I saw it at the IMAX, I looooved it. I went w/ a friend and I had told him that it wasn't very good before we went to go see it. Well, he saw it and said it was AWSOME.
I think that's all it was. Everyone had super-high hopes for it. Sure, it's not even close to perfect, but it's not a terrible movie either *cough cough, ghost rider, Daredevil, Elektra, Hulk*. The action is pretty sweet and I liked the many villains. My only huge complain is Venom. He definately should have had multiple fights w/ Spidey since he was the greater of the 3 villains. Also, the hissing noise he makes annoids me. In the cartoons, it was more of roar, wish they would have kept it like that.
Now, to say which one is my favorite Spidey film, this one is it, followed by Spidey1 and lastly 2. Spider-Man 2 was good, but I really don't see why everyone says it's "perfect" or the Best of the Spidey films while I say it's the worst. Doc Ock just wasn't interesting to me. I think this movie would have benefited greatly by adding a second villain and cutting some of the drama. It was HUGE on the drama that didn't necessarly moved the overall story of all 3 movies forward, except for a few key moments near the end. Also, most of the spidey vs doc oct fight scences were great to look at,but weren't as exciting as the ones in the first or third. Don't get me wrong, I liked it, but it's the least of my favorites.
back to the third and hopeful future movies. I don't know why they introduced Gwen Stacy. I would have rather liked it if instead they had Felicia Hearting (sp??). That way, maybe she could turn into Black Cat in Spidey 4 and help him out. We need some chicks who can fight in Spidey Films.
I seriously don't think they can go back to just having one villain per movie. I say they should have 2 or more. Hey, the X Men movies have like 50 characters so I say it's do-able w/ out hitting the story too much. All they gotta do is cut out the cheesy scences (moans painfully at Parker air humping) and replace them w/ character development.
Which villains to add? I don't know. The 3rd ends and the overall arc feels complete, so maybe they can start a new arc. All I know is that if they do make a 4th film (which I think they will.... what will Toby and Dunst do if they don't? Seasbiscuit 2.Wimbledon 2???) it's gonna feel like a fresh start for the series.

coolmig012000 said: EVEN SO, i said they probably will. Just because it's been "confirmed" now, it doesn't mean it's written in stone and things can't change. Regardless, it's Hollywood we're talking about and money speaks. They're probably WILL be a 4th. Just saying it's not very likely that Toby and Dunst will leave if they pay them enough.
I don't mean to sound rude or cocky, but I guarantee I know more about the film industry than you do. Since you don't seem to know about me yet, I don't post anything unless I know damn sure what I'm talking about. The plans are to film all three back to back like LOTR in the hopes of keeping the cast.
But here are several links for your reading enjoyment....
