If it is online, no one here has scooped it yet, which probably means it's not true.
If it is I DAMN SURE want to know too!

I think Gale Ann Hurd, the producer, said there was no Capt. America scene. I dont know. I'll just wait for the DVD to find out if there truly is a Cap. scene.

If there is a Captain America scene, then I'm sure it would have leaked out by now.

lol Why? Stuff appears all the time on deleted scenes on the DVD that no one has seen. They shot the scene, and they cut it. It would probably need to be shown somewhere for it to be leaked because the poeple who would have access risk extreme lawsuits and proffessional ruin

I'm not a big fan of it myself.

Except for all the "exclusive" crap that the producers seem to want to cram into these things for the sole purpose of selling the movie at a higher price, I have yet to see ONE advantage over DVDs.

At least that's true on the scale of advantages that DVDs have over VHS tapes.

there isnt a big difference between dvd and blu-ray and it can only be seen on a full definition tv which not everyone has, i think they are trying to set a trend and failing with it cos no one wants to pay extra for practically the same thing

I agree, but I think the whole idea that they are just going to leave out the one special feature everyone is dying to see is just stupid. Even if they are pushing Blue ray, even if it's better somehow, leaving the Cap scene out is just not going to happen.

Blu-ray is crap? Have you ever used it before? The quality of the picture on there is twice times better and clearer than DVDs. You don't have to get to the special features at the menu. You can get to them when you are right in the middle of a movie if you want to. You need to watch a Blu-ray disc on a High-def television before you judge it. High-def quality is WAY better than what we used to have. You are just missing out. I bought my dad the Planet Earth series in Blu-ray High-def (which was on the Discovery Channel in HD) for Father's Day and he loves it. He is an old-school type guy but he thinks High-def quality is great. I heard that in 2009 everybody is going to have to get televisions in digital or High-def quality if they want to watch local broadcasting. The government is going to offer a somewhat discount for everyone owns an older television. HD is the future.

You must be blind or don't have really good eye sight because to me I can tell the difference what is clearer and what is less clear in the quality of the picture. The audio is the only thing I can't really tell the difference from, maybe a little though.

Well everyone will afford both at some point. They are lowering the prices for them and the government is going to offer a discount so you can afford a Digital TV or a HD-TV.

My 27" Samsung flat screen HD-TV did only cost me around 800 bucks. My dad's Sony flat screen HD-TV did cost over 1000 bucks and his HD projector and big screen did cost him that much also. It's almost like going to a movie theater except it's at home. It's pretty cool though.

Sorry I mean Avengers not JLA, I am not into this but frankly I really did enjoyed this movie, along with Ironman, Spiderman, X-men and Batman and all the comic book heros. The only comic book I read is Spawn, my favourite.
I can't wait to see The Dark Knight.

Thanks.

Yeah Justice League of America and Green Lantern are DC and Captain America and the Avengers are Marvel.

The Captain America scene won't just be only on the Blu-ray Disc. It will be on the special edition DVD also. I hardly believe it will just only be on one of the formats anyways. However, Blu-ray Disc is still better and anyway it holds a lot more space than a regular DVD does. The prices for HD-TVs and Blu-ray Disc players are going down. I have been noticed that some HD-TVs gotten down to like around to the 200 or 300 bucks range and same thing with Blu-ray Disc players. Oh I'm not kidding either.

You hit the nail on the head. I'm not gonna deny that Blu-ray looks better. But I will say that it doesn't look better enough to justify the purpose. I really don't need to see EVERY little detail when I am watching tv.

Let's compare the 2 jumps...

VHS-->DVD
DVD has better picture
DVD has better sound
DVD takes up less space
DVD allows you to jump around from place to place in the menu
DVD has tons of special features (deleted scenes, multiple languages, subtitles, commentary, "making of" featurettes)
DVD has more data space
DVD's are more practical to pack multiple disks in one case.
There are probably some more I am missing, too.

DVD-->Blu-Ray
Blu-Ray has slightly better picture if you have a tv that is powerful (and expensive) enough to display the image
Blu-Ray has slightly better sound if you have like the best sound system (which is also very expensive)

So, to me, it's clear that the jump from VHS to DVD is much more impressive than the hop from DVD to Blu-Ray.

No. They'll INTENTIONALLY leave it out.

Blue Ray is basically the same thing as a scalper at a ballgame. They KNOW you want to see it, so they know they can get more money out of you.

Okay apparently none of you see how Blu-ray Disc is WAY better than DVD and VHS combine.

Blu-Ray doesn't have slightly better picture and sound. It has a lot more than that.

Blu-ray Disc has high-quality clear picture and high-quality sound which gives you the feeling that you are actually there.
Blu-ray Disc takes up less space same as DVD does
Blu-ray Disc allows you get to special features when you are right in the middle of watching the film without going back to the main menu.
Blu-ray Disc of course has tons of special features (deleted scenes, multiple languages, subtitles, commentary, "making of" featurettes) same way DVD has
Blu-ray Disc has twice times more data space than DVD has. Like an example if you getting a special edition which gives you 2 discs, right? For the Blu-ray Disc version you got the 2-discs special edition in one disc.

I have Batman: Gotham Knight on Blu-ray Disc which is basically the 2-discs special edition in one except it is in High-def format instead standard format.

Blu-ray Disc gives you a pretty realistic experience which is much more impressive than DVD or VHS is. Blu-ray Disc or High-def television isn't that expensive what you really think it is. If you have read my earlier post then you should know what I'm talking about. The prices for Blu-ray Disc or High-def television are going down. Probably in the next few or 5 years then everything in High-def format won't be so expensive anymore.

If you want to know more about Blu-ray Disc look it up on Wikipedia if my words are not enough to convince you.

I'm not saying that Blu-ray doesn't have special features or that it takes up more space than a DVD. I was listing the improvements between the 2 compared things (like when comparing VHS-->DVD, I stated the menu and bonus feature stuff because VHS's didn't have menus or much for bonus features. But for DVD-->Blu-Ray, I didn't list that stuff because DVD's already had it, so Blu-ray got no points because it wasn't an improvement in those areas, just equal. The point of my post wasn't to compare DVD's and Blu-rays, but rather the difference between VHS's and DVD's compared to the difference between DVD's and Blu-ray, showing that Blu-ray isn't that great of an advancement.

The_Star_Treker said:

Maybe I'm wrong about this, but to me that doesn't seem like that great of a feature. It saves you what, 15 seconds-and that's IF you ever use it (like for me, I don't like to go to special features when I am in the middle of watching the movie)

The_Star_Treker said:

Your right, I should have included the increased data storage. That was my fault.

Yeah, I know Blu-ray is most likely the way our society is headed, I'm just saying it is much less of an improvement than DVD's were.

I went to a shop and notice a new RAMBO DVD which I have not seen, it is on sale for a Blu Ray and normal DVD, when you compare the price the normal DVD is far cheaper than the Blu Ray it is #25 for Blu Ray and #14 for just a DVD, so I bought it on normal DVD plug it in at home the image and sound is all right, so I don't see the point of getting it on Blu Ray I have a Playstation 3 and I hav Casino Royale I do not see any difference except explosion which actuall sharper. But if the movie is just drama or comedy get it on DVD. If it's action, superhero sci fi, might aswelkl get it on Blu Ray because it is like 40 - 50 difference to be honest that is what my opinion thinks, I am sticking to the normal DVD until the Blu Ray price go down, then I will get it on Blu Ray then.

Again everyone is entitled to have their own opinion.
