Just because New Line answer to Bugs Bunny now, doesnt mean theyll be abandoning their pets (perhaps just Mimzy who will be put to sleep shortly). Austin Powers, Bilbo and those post-nuptial horndogs, the Wedding Crashers, are all still registered to the shingle with plans to walk them all again soon.
According to Variety, new New Line head Toby Emmerich will steer the much-hyped Hobbit film into production, as well as both a Wedding Crashers 2 and an Austin Powers 4 (depending, of course, on how much those two films cost being that New Line are restricted to making lesser-budgeted flicks; otherwise theyll be WB product). Those three franchises are New Lines biggest success stories outside of the Elm Street series so its not at all surprising to hear Warner Bros have OKed a plan for the NL crowd to continue work on them.
Wouldnt be surprised if Warner start going through the New Line vaults to see what other properties they now own, and therefore can exploit.
