Anticipation Level:
How excited (or not) I am to see this movie...
Personally, Terminator 4 (if it focuses purely on the actual war between man and machine perhaps accumilating in the original Terminator being sent back to kill sarah conner in the 1st film), might be pretty good. Of course some people may be of the opinion that it might have been cool to have let Terminator 3 fulfil this plot rather than rehash (apart from a few minor plot-points) the second one. However, with Arnie too busy these days being Governor (inevitably limiting his screen-time in #4 to a glorified cameo), will this work? Lets hope so! If Terminator 3 had perhaps focused on the future war and as previously mentioned concluded with the sending back of the first Terminator (a plot point of which could have been the soldiers attempting to stop this from happening, resulting in much tension and the inevitable failure-would still be exciting even with the outcome known
ala the new Star Wars prequels), it would have neatly wrapped up the trilogy and also developed perfectly from T2-3D (the Universal Ride which James Cameron directed and was amazing-hinting at what T3 could have been had Cameron bothered his ass). If none of this makes sense don't worry im a tad confused myself. But I suppose confusion is what the Terminator plots are all about (ie. How can Kyle from the first film be Johns father? thats impossible)
