Star Trek “Star Trek 11” — xero328 [More reviews by this user] Anticipation Level: How excited (or not) I am to see this movie... I'd like some feedback on this. Hypothetically, doing a Deep Space Nine movie next would make sense because their series was next. Too bad the actors never got along. Voyager was VERY popular on UPN, and trekkies and non-trekkies alike got together in LARGE numbers for the series finale. Doing THEM next would make sense too. Enterprise wasn't a smash hit, but was the most recent show. THEY would make sense for the next film as well. How can they do a KIRK movie? Have they gone as FORWARD as they can? There is plenty that can be focussed on. The Earth/Romulan war for example. The Titan novel series. Hell, I LOVE New Frontier myself. That'd be a good film as well. Vanguard? SCE? It's been said Spiner will be in this film. Data in Kirk's time? I am getting confused. Or was Soong alive then? Maybe his head was duplicated from Samuel Clemens' time, and a young Kirk finds it and installs it into his car like Knight Rider. Then he gets chased around by a mean black guy with a mohawk driving a black van. Wait, wait...Then gets tied up in a room with a paper clip, a rubber band, two seashells and some duct tape, which can be fashioned into a crude....Phaser? It'd make about as much sense. Here's what I think would make sense. Give DS9 a film, give Voyager one, then Enterprise. They will ALL do okay, because they ARE in fact Star Trek. They know they can churn out any old piece of crap for us fans now, because we have proven we will buy anything with that label on it. We might go SEE it a few times in the theater, but we'll buy the DVD. Here's MY idea. Make the films release directly to DVD. Pornos get done that way I believe, and they make money. Then they wouldn't freak about that opening weekend. I mean, Pokemon has about 5 films that are feature-length and they are mainly released to DVD and video. They do well enough. I'm done yapping.
