I'm guessing this was Abrams' way of avoiding whether Klingons should have the forehead ridges or not. I suppose we'll see in the sequel.

which do you think they should have, the "augmented" or the normal Klingons? personally i think they should have the normal ones as apparently the "augmented were only used in certain areas

I was thinking the same thing. He should go for the augmented ones or the tradition ones with ridges. I like the masks, they look badass in them but I don't think it's good idea because you know the way Trekkies/Trekkers are. I'm the Trekkie/Trekker is okay with it though.
