How is he ruining the series?! He's doing his own version. If you don't like it then don't watch it. Stick to the older franchise.
Halloween Resurrection.... Now thats ruining the franchise! Adding such a stupidass installment to an already crumbling series!
I'll tell you how he's ruining the series. True, its his own vision and such but his vision sucks and is horrible and is a complete slap in the face to the Halloween series.
Rob Zombie is a sick **** and his personality clearly shows in his movies. Especially Halloween. He managed to butcher 8 great Halloween movies in ONE remake. Look at the casting for the remake. They all looked like a bunch of hillbilly zombie clone freaks. Then, look at the casting for the orginal Halloween. They all look like a bunch of normal people.
The remake took great actors and were put into a **** movie that made their acting a joke (Daniell Harris, Malcom McDowell, and Fred Ward). Personally, Danielle Harris was way too good to be in that remake.
McDowell's acting as Loomis became even more laughable when he was begging Michael to stop and was trying to stop him at the end by grabbing his leg. Great actors put into **** movie that made the actors look and sound like crap.
Zombie's explanation of why Michael kills was retarded and stupid. So, Michael turns into an unstoppable killer who can't die because he had a bad home life and because he got picked on in school? GIVE. ME. A. BREAK. I prefer the thorn explanation and god knows I hated the thorn plot.
Zombie is a screwed up dude who incorporates his personality into the movie:
- A mentally insitutionalized girl is RAPED by the two orderlies that WORK there. SERIOUSLY ****ED UP AND WRONG. Tell me why that is necessary? Especially for a Halloween movie that is about a serial killer.
- So, if rape wasn't enough now we have BONDAGE involved with the deaths of the movie. Michael bounds and gags the dude to the chair with duct tape and slits his throat. WOW.
And how many freaking times was there someone on the floor, screaming, trying to crawl away from Michael? BE CREATIVE. This movie was poorly written and made. So let me get this straight, filming begins in MARCH and he wants the movie out by OCTOBER?! Not even Halloween 5 was that rushed after Halloween 4.
I agree that the Halloween series lacks continuity but that only happened with H4-6 being ignored in H20. SO WHAT. I know H20 ignores those movies but H4 clearly shows you that they all DID happen. H20 acts as if H4-6 never happened right? Well, in H4, there is a scene where Jamie is looking at a picture of her MOTHER... Laurie Strode - Jamie Lee Curtis who was IN H20.
And Friday the 13th also has a different actor playing Jason in each movie so... Until Hodder came along that is. And by the way, I saw the trailer for the remake of Friday the 13th. I was VERY impressed and it made me happy and excited to see it. That trailer was better than ALL of the Halloween remake. No joke.
And Halloween: Resurrection was one of the best movies in the series. Yea so what if it had Tyra Banks in it along with Busta Ryhmes, Resurrection made Michael Michael again. Brad Loree did a great job with Myers. Resurrection will still be better than any number of remakes Zombie does.
And something a lot of you still need to understand. This remake did not happen because Dimension or whoever thought it was a good idea, it did not happen just to make money, and it did NOT happen because they thought it was the right move for the series. The remake only happened because Moustapha Akkad died. That is the dead truth no matter what any of you want to believe.
Akkad did nothing but talk about Halloween 9 ever since Resurrection was released. They even had a Halloween 9 contest to give a fan a chance to be in the series and that girl, Heather Bowen WON. I saw how happy she was at that convention when she went up on stage with Akkad. You know what she probably is doing right now? CRYING.
Akkad dies and now we're getting REMAKES! The REAL Michael Myers died when Akkad died so... Remake is one of those ideas that Akkad always shot down. He stood in the way of the series being seriously screwed like it is now. He is the reason why Michael vs Pinhead never happened and thank god.
So, in conclusion. Rob Zombie is a sick **** who yes, did ruin the Halloween series and will continue to with every sequel he wants to remake.
RIP MOUSTAPHA AKKAD - You are still very missed and we know you were the only one to truely care about Michael and the Halloween series and kept the series going with sequels fans waited for.
ROB ZOMBIE - BURN.
Believe me, I have a lot more I could still say. And I can't believe I and many other fans have to continue being forcefully dragged through horrible remakes and watch our favortie series every die. Just horrible.
To anyone who DOES like the remake. That is perfectly fine. It is. I am simply just trying to point out that it wasn't as great as people make it out to be. COME TO THE FREDDY VS JASON 2 BOARD TO SEE MY FREDDY VS JASON VS MICHAEL SCRIPT!

If the old series was never made and Zombie made Halloween, the first and only, people would go ape sh** over this. I found the movie to have a good, strong cast. I thought Myer's origin was handled really well, while not kicking around the original.
The film was done really well, and Zombie, whose work I haven't liked before, actually surprised me by making a movie that actually had a plot, with character development, and took what was so great and surprised you about the first movie, and doing it again.
I think this was a good movie. I feel Zombie only got ripped apart by fans of the first one because this was a remake. Of course, all of this is my opinion. |

I'll give you one thing, the remake was not great. But it was still good in my eyes. By the same token, I don't think anyone could say that any Halloween movie is great?! With the exception of calling the original a classic.
Yes, Zombie has a fetish for hillbillys. Its his thing. But he incorporated it into the movie seamlessly. And Michaels family wasn't even necesseraly hillbilly in this movie. More white trash than anything.
Again, he has in no way screwed up the original franchise. IT STILL STANDS! This is seperate. Screwing up the original franchise is adding MORE shitty sequals to the existing continuity. Continuity being very loose! Lets say Zombies remake was "GREAT". It wouldnt be rejuvinating the franchise, or FINALLY steering it in the right direction. NO! Because ITS NOT PART OF THE FRANCHISE!!! Its not Halloween 9!! So please, enough with "Oh, Zombie butched my beloved Halloween.." Seriously, give me a break.
You're also jumping to conclusions by saying that THIS Michael becomes an unstopable killer that can't die. We don't know that! So far, Zombies explanation for Michael being able to endure so much is that hes a BIG motherf'er!!! And at the end of the first, we don't see him get shot! So get off your high horse.
And another thing.... You make a big deal over the rape scene.... sigh. Its called character development!!!! It just shows that despite all his home troubles, even in the nut house, he is still witness to the autrocities of human nature. Thus making him more of a sadistic killer that doesnt know any better! Reality check man! This sorta sh!t happens in real life!! And its only more prominent in Michaels world! Can't handle it, stick to your prescious original, untarnished franchise.
But how do I know that everything I just said will more than likely go over your head??? Your defense for Halloween Ressurection! Seriously?! Really?! You really can't believe that it was good?! That it made Michael, Michael?! LMAO! It put Michael Myers on an internet reality show for christ's sake!!! Nough said! No wait... It also throws in a rapper and a supermodel!!!! Because thats what the original franchise needs, recognizable names so that more people will watch it!! Second reality check!! THATS RUINING THE FRANCHISE!

Oh please, how the hell can you say his hillbilly freaky fetish worked well in the movie? Nothing worked well with that nor was it consistent. It totally made Michael and Halloween something its nothing which is part of why he is screwing up the series.
Let me tell you, HE IS screwing up the series and I will tell you how and why once again. Don't tell me this isn't Halloween 9 and that this is "seperate". ITS NOT. This is what Dimension decided to do once Akkad died, so YES, this IS screwing up the series. We were in the middle of a series that still needed actual closure and out of no where they decided to kill it and have Zombie hillbillies remake the orginal and turn it into crap and RUIN IT. Talk about bad continuity idiot.
Oh give me a freaking break with you already. You're trying to tell me why Michael can undure so much pain is because he's BIG?! Oh please. BEING BIG DOES NOT MEAN YOU CAN WITHSTAND SO MUCH PAIN AND AREN'T ABLE TO DIE. That was a weak blow, sorry. That's not even an explanation and if you actually consider it to be, well its a very shitty one.
Zombie is remaking the orginal, right? We know what Michael has become through 8 movies and Zombie attempted to EXPLAIN THAT and his explanation for him turning into what he did is that he got picked on in school and had a bad homelife. You'll probably tell me that once again this is "seperate". Well, lets say I went with you on that, his explanation for why Michael kills is still CRAP! So yes, his explanation for why he turns into an unstoppable killer is beyound laughable and was a huge mistake.
Whoa, whoa, whoa, WHOA! Please explain what character development there was while a mentally institutionalized girl was being raped?! There was NO character development in that scene whatsoever. You are giving Zombie more credit than he deserves nor does he deserve any. That sounds like to me you're desperately trying to defend Zombie and his sick personality.
That rape scene was nothing but COMPLETELY unnecessary and had no meaning at all and was not needed. All it was, was a way of being more perverted and sick to a movie that he already screwed up in the first scene. That's it, it was to be pure sick, nothing else.
Don't tell me if I can't handle it to go somewhere else and stick to my movies. I CAN handle a rape scene but only when its NECESSARY AND NEEDED! Halloween in no way needs a rape scene. Its about a serial killer who can't die, not raping girls who can't defend themselves.
Rape usually forwards a plot or develops a character, but that didn't happen in Halloween, it was nothing but unnecessary and to show us how sick Zombie is. That is it. Admit it to yourself, you'll feel better. Who cares if it happens in real life buddy, keep it away from Halloween and stick it where it does belong. Zombie needs to learn when and when not to do things like that.
Keep laughing about Halloween: Resurrection pal, but a lot of people will agree with me that it DID make Michael Michael again and that is thanks to Brad Loree. Michael did not feel or look like Michael from H4-H20. H8 FINALLY got the LOOK right and the ACTOR right. Your problem is, that you find a couple things you didn't like and then calls it the worst movie ever. It sucks for you that you let a couple rappers ruin the movie for you. It really does.
The internet route was a just a new fresh idea we haven't seen so they tried and it wasn't well received from fans, so you think THAT is ruining the series? Some rappers and a bad idea YOU didn't like? Here's your reality check, THAT is not ruining the series just because of some bad casting, Rob Zombie casting a bunch of hillbilly Zombie clone freaks that look like their his own family and letting his personality make the movie IS RUINING THE FRANCHISE!
You want to know what started to ruin the series, Halloween 3! And they still kept going and made up for it. Samething with Resurrection to those who did not like it, they can do another one and make up for it. It amazes me how easily you'll turn your back against the series because you didn't like one movie it did.
ROB ZOMBIE is the worst thing that ever happened to the Halloween series! COME TO THE FREDDY VS JASON 2 BOARD TO SEE MY FREDDY VS JASON VS MICHAEL SCRIPT!

LMFAO!!!
I literally laughed through this retort.
Really quick, because I have to leave for work. I have not turned my back on the original franchise. Despite all of its flaws, its still enjoyable. With the exception of Ressurection wich is complete and utter FAIL! More on that later.
Ill reply later on in full much later tonight when I get back from work.
In the mean time, anyone that sighs with me because im right obviously. Please have at it!

I did. I turned my back on the original completely. Zombie's giving the franchise that fresh feeling to it. That much needed kick in the pants that the franchise was desperately asking for. Myers is vicious. Rob is making him even MORE. |

By not acknowledging the fact that Zombie's franchise is separate and will not diminish the quality of it's predecessors and by thinking that Resurrection was a good movie.
Uhh... I know that the remake is seperate. And THAT'S the only thing you're basing this off of, that I'm not being "reasonable"? Oh please. I am being very reasonable so cut it. But see, its a remake of a movie we all love and have seen, so tell me how it won't be compared? And thats part of what I did, I said what was wrong with the remake and how it turned Halloween into something its not.
Remake or not, Zombie still messed up what Halloween is and made it something its not. So I don't know whats with you in saying that it can't be judged or compared just because it's "seperate". When you have an unnecessary remake to a movie people already loved, its going to get critized and compared. Sorry. And like I've already said, even if you look at it as being "seperate", my critism still stands. Deal with it.
"and by thinking that Resurrection was a good movie"
Resurrection WAS a good movie. And that's like me saying you're not being reasonable because you thought the remake WAS a good movie.
I didn't say the remake was a good movie. I haven't even seen it, like I said in my post up above. My point, like Alan's, is that the original films still stand and, no matter what Zombie does with these new ones, they will remain. Zombie is in no way tarnishing their reputation. Chances are I probably won't like the remake when I see it, but if you don't like it, stay away from it. That's why I don't watch any of the Elm Street films outside of the original.
For the record, I dislike Resurrection because of how easily it allowed itself to become a part of the cliche-ridden Hollywood horror movie machine that was criticized in Scream. Honestly, I predicted the ending half-way through. That's not a good thing. Then you stack copious amounts of swearing, bad acting, and that god-awful Busta Rhymes character on top of that and you have the death of a legend. The only part of the film I genuinely liked was the intro with Jamie Lee Curtis, but like a bunch of retards, the filmmakers killed her off and replaced her with reality tv BS. So yes, when you still comically adhere to horror film archetypes despite being satirized by another (superior) film, I call you bad. I don't like the remake and I AM staying away from it. Of course as a huge loyal fan of the Halloween series, I had to see it, just to see what they did with it and because I saw it, I can critize it and say what I think. And because it has just recently been confirmed that there will be a Halloween 2, a sequel to the remake that I hated, I thought it was time to say something again. Cause there are things I had to say that needed to be heard again.
"My point, like Alan's, is that the original films still stand and, no matter what Zombie does with these new ones, they will remain."
I know. I never said that Zombie's remake would somehow "erase" the other films.
"Zombie is in no way tarnishing their reputation"
I'm sorry but on some level he is. He HAS turned Halloween into something it is not and has made it almost unrecongonizable and that is not good.
Now, I agree with you completely about Resurrection in that it lacked a Halloween feel entirely, and it DID feel like a hollywood type movie. There is no doubt in that. But that did not make me hate it and call it the worst movie ever. Despite what some may think, Michael Myers was at his best in that movie, the look, and the acting. FINALLY. Something we have not had since Halloween/Halloween 2. It still was a very exciting movie and having Busta and Tyra Banks in no way make it worse for me. Some may hate that but to say they ruined the movie or made it the worst movie ever in the series is stupid.
And you call me "bad" because I liked Halloween: Resurrection? I'm sorry, but that is stupid. I don't call people stupid or "bad" because they liked the remake and I didn't. I simply voice my opinion to point out things that not a lot of people seem to realize and to make clear that it was not as good as people make it out to be and thats what I was doing.
And for the record, it was Jamie Lee Curtis' idea to be killed off in Resurrection not the writers or producers or whoever. COME TO THE FREDDY VS JASON 2 BOARD TO SEE MY FREDDY VS JASON VS MICHAEL SCRIPT!

Im not gonna give you any flak for your critizisms of Zombies movie. Thats your opinion. But I believe that your hate for what Rob Zombie is making you bias towards his vision of the movie. If this exact same movie was made with another director, I believe you wouldn't be so harsh.
All I really hear is ZOMBIE IS BAD SO THE MOVIE IS TOO!
And though you claim that you understand Zombies franchise is seperate from the original. You still say that he turned Halloween into something that its not!! Halloween is still what it is and has always been! Zombies movie has not changed that!!!!!!!!! Geez, get it through your thick skull!
Now, on Ressurection. As if enough has not been said already as to why its BAD. Mr. Sesuken has done a great job of getting my point across as it is. But your defense is that Michael felt like Michael?! Thats it?! Give me a break! Though I will agree with you on the performance, that alone could not save the autrocity of that movie!
And no one ever said it was the worst movie ever. At least in the franchise alone, part 3 holds that tittle, with 8 right behind it! Furthermore, I never said that Busta Rhymes and Tyra Banks involvement made the movie suck! Their involvement was simply unnecessary. And they were only thrown in there to attract a younger new audience. That with the contemporary vehicle of using an Internet reality show!! Nothing says Halloween like that! Oh, and their acting really sucked.
Not that I have anything against rappers or supermodels. Hell, I thought LL Cool J did a good job as the character he played in H20.
But allow me to put the final nail in the coffin as to why Ressurection ruined the original franchise. They killed off Laurie Strode! Curtis wanting it that way is no defense. Here's the thing. Jamie made a concious decision in H20 to give closure to her character and Michaels by killing him! As far as im concerned, that was it for her. Obviously, thats not to stop anyone from making another sequal.
Now, I don't know the exact details. But I could pretty much bet that whether or not she was approached to reprise her role. When it came to it, it was pretty much a " if you cant beat em, join em" The way I see it, she wasn't gonna be able to stop another movie from being made. So since Michael was gonna continue to wreak havoc, might aswell off her character and be done with it. Couldn't get the closure in the last film, so lets just be done with it. Fu@k it! Hence making it the opening sequence!
