The boys over at Arrow in the Head came across an article in the latest issue of Rue Morgue Magazine where French directors Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo talk a bit about their involvement in Dimension Films sequel to Rob Zombie's HALLOWEEN. It's unfortunate that the duo left HELLRAISER, but it's also pretty incredible that they could save Michael Myers from what appeared to be his death.

AITH report that Bustillo and Maury are officially attached to HALLOWEEN 2, or so they claim in the latest issue of Rue Morgue Magazine.

"...it's a proposition we couldn't refuse, Maury explained and added that he and Bustillo are well aware of Zombie's re-imagining of Michael Myers and they're out to put their stamp on the character, not copy what came before them. "Therefore, our vision will be done with utmost respect, with a continuity of [Zombie's] work but also a real evolution of the world he set in place."

I personally think they should do a sequel completely ignoring Zombie's film, but that's just me... what do you guys think about this? Where should the franchise go from here?

They should continue on from Zombie's film but of course Zombie is not involved so they can do it differently as in follow the story but change the tone ect .
If they did a movie that ignored Zombie's film then it would be so confusing & send the whole saga into stupidity of the highest level ! .

Rob Zombie's Halloween was a good movie, I would like to see a sequel if it was Zombie's. It set the tone and shown how a slasher flick should be portrayed today. The movie told a great back story of Halloween that we had not seen before and remade a true classic and done a great job at it. It had the Halloween feel to it from back in the day, with Zombie's twist on the franchise. He didn't turn it into another House Of 1000 Corpses or The Devil's Rejects, but he added and changed the right amount of things to make this one enjoyable and put it up there as one of the best Halloween movies.

Let's face it, the Halloween series needed a good reboot. It wasn't a HAVE too case, but I would have rather much seen this reboot than another horrible sequel in the series. The problem with these movies are they make so many of them that they become silly. I can see Zombie walking away and not wanting to do a sequel and become know as another director who does a hundred of the same movie.

Of course the original is great, but the thing with slasher flicks is you can only do the same thing over and over. Yes, you can have different kills and different cast, but the plot is always the same. I think if the original Halloween would be released today it would have had the same commercial success that Zombie's had. Just because Zombie's name is attached to something, doesn't mean it will be bad or is bad. This was a good remake.
