It was kind of a shock to hear The Weinsteins say they didn't have any intention on continuing the Halloween franchise, especially after Rob Zombie's remake made nearly $80 million worldwide at the box office. Only recently we've discovered that there are in fact plans on doing a new film, but everything is still at the absolute lowest level of talks. There will be another Halloween oen of these days, we know at least that much. But something odd that came to our attention is that offers went out to directors immediately following the opening weekend of the remake, when the Weinstein brothers claimed that this was it for the Myers family. So don't get too excited just yet, it could still be awhile before we see Michael Myers back on the big screen, but one thing that always remains true is that one successful film breeds ten more, so if Platinum Dunes' Friday the 13th remake kicks some ass expect an instant greenlight by early 2009.
