Obviously you can't critize a movie until you see it which is exactly why I saw it. I don't consider this a Halloween movie nor do I consider it a movie in general.
The following post by me will be very long and harsh but I don't care. Coming from a HUGE Halloween fan since I can remember, this movie was a huge disgusting disgrace. Anything I say is an understatement.
I don't even know where to begin so I guess I will start with the rape scene which was completely UNNECESSARY! This is Halloween okay, we shouldn't be seeing a girl getting raped by two guys in a hospital! Just awful and perverted. Save rape for shows like Law and Order.
Every single person in this movie looked like some scary gothic Rob Zombie clone.
Michael is insane, yes, but not hillbilly scary freak insane. In the real world, for some reason there are people who hate other people for NO REASON. They want to do harm to them for no reason, I've seen people like that. That is partly how Michael was portrayed as a kid. THAT IS NOT MICHAEL. I can't believe I am going to say this but I rather have thorn be the reason behind Michael's madness and god knows I hate the thorn explanation.
And uh, that "Michael" as an adult was even bigger than Kane Hodder. He was even more brutal and insane than Michael and Jason put together. NOT IN A GOOD WAY. This remade Michael was some zombie who was way too ****ed up. Not in a cool way. It was disgusting and painful to see. Rob changed way too much and in a very horrible way. Michael acted and moved way too fast, he was always quick, sure, but he was chasing and trying to kill Laurie faster than Harry Potter can fly on his broom stick.
This movie was so rushed, once it was fifteen years later, basically it was at night already and skipped so much. And what the hell, Annie doesn't die? Right when a scene started, it was already over.
Rob Zombie has a sick mind and released it on Halloween. Those deaths scene were just awful to see, no, not in a good way. It was way too over the top, especially for Halloween. Who can honsetly tell me they LIKED this movie? It was rushed, nothing like Halloween, I don't even know who that was wearing that mask, wasn't Michael that's for sure.
And don't get me started on Dr. I am trying to be Loomis. He GAVE UP on Michael? The REAL Sam Loomis did not give up on Michael. Every character was a JOKE! Brackett, Annie, Linda, all of them. No development what so ever and it felt like random people who accidentaly walked on the set and ended up in the movie. Laurie was a complete slob. Once we met these characters, it was over before we can even digest them as being apart of the movie.
And Michael TALKS! Sure its as a kid, but come on, Michael doesn't talk.
From 1978 Loomis: "He was the ideal patient, he didn't cry, he didn't move. Never broke his silence"
And yet, in the remake Michael and Loomis are having a friendly conversation. WOW. And is it just me, or did Michael say he didn't remember killing anybody? Great, now he has memory lose. What's next, he has a twin?
1978 Loomis: "I was his doctor for fifteen years, he became an obession with me and there was nothing even REMOTELY HUMAN" (I cut the quote down)
And again, Michael is talking and even sounded normal for a second when talking to Loomis.
And what kind of screwed up ending was that? Seriously. She shoots him and screams and then it ends? This dude totally messed up this movie. And everything before that dragged on too long.
This movie had too much gore, sex, and violence and forced the Halloween music in there. Even with the music it didn't feel like Halloween.
Oh, and, this remake did NOT happen because it was needed, it did NOT happen because people thought it was a good idea, the only reason we got this movie was because Moustapha Akkad died. Some of you still need to digest that fact. The only words that came out of his mouth since Resurrection was: "Sequel, I want to do a sequel and finish the series." He then dies and they remake the first one, totally disreguarding what he wanted. Even Malek, how sad.
And how long did each and everyone of us wait for some news on the next Halloween movie? What, six years? Sorry but, I didn't wait six years to find out we're getting a remake when a sequel was being planned.
And start reading around certain sites, Dimension and Malek learned the hard way that this was a bad idea and pissed of A LOT of fans. So maybe we will get Halloween 9 eventually. Seriously, who HONSETLY liked this movie? Yes I know this is all my opinion and everyone has their own point of view but come on, this remake slapped the real Halloween in the face along with the fans. And there were more deaths in this movie then there was in three of the Friday the 13th movies. Just sickening.
Has anyone taken a look at Rob Zombie? Has anyone learned at all how he views life and movies? This remake totally shows his personality which is very wrong for Halloween. Looks like he casted his whole family for this movie.
The acting and dialogue was laughable and just did not live up to the orginal. Nothing did.
This was a long post, yes and it was harsh, yes. Too bad. This movie sucked more than I can express and disturbed the hell out of me. Normally, its in a good way because that is what horror movies do but Rob is just plain sick:
- Michael duct tapes that guy to the chair and slits his throat. Slitting throats is fine but not when incorperated with bondage.
- Michael feels up his own sister for crying out loud. Michael is insane, not a pervert!
- So now its a despressing soap opera? Michael's mom was depressed beyond belief and shoots herself. This is Halloween, the most depressing thing we've ever saw was a character seeing their loved ones dead body. My goodness.
And he repeated himself too many times. How many times was someone crawling on the floor trying to get away? Can't he be orginal at least once?
Rob Zombie did not take this seriously and made Halloween look like a complete joke and we basically forget this is even Halloween. I hope we can come back from this. Just terrible.
And don't anyone play the card with me, that Rob spoke to John Carpenter about remaking his movie. Them two speaking does not make it anymore okay. John stopped caring about Halloween ever since Halloween 2. ( 3 had nothing to do with myers so..) So, John really could care less.
If I think of anything more, I'll be back.
In memory of Moustapha Akkad. At least we go that in the credits.

hayesy35 said: What a baby !!! don't listen to his total BS
, the writer is just jelious TOTALLY , what a dork !!! this was the best Halloween movie I have seen - look how the hell do you think Micheal became what he was - his abusive family you dumb ass - sure some of it was over the top but it had to be - the Rob Zombie version of halloween had depth & a story which none of the other 7 or 8 sequels had & the writer of the post has always wanted some lame ass sequel piece of crap like ressurection *-ME come on !!! .
ps...Micheal Myers is Human & talked when he was a boy get over it there is nothing in the original to say he was A MUTE BOY .
Baby? Nah. And who are you calling jealous? Me? And who is the writer? Me? Be clearer, seriously.
You say this is the best Halloween ever? What even makes this movie feel like a Halloween movie? Seriously. And they didn't explain why Michael is so screwed up, yes his family is screwed up, so ****ing what.
How in the hell can you say Rob's version had story and depth? IT WAS A REMAKE! NOTHING WAS NEW. Perhaps the kid stuff was new but it still sucked and really wasn't that thrilling, just Rob showing us had perverted he can be. Sorry, no depth or story, no matter how hard you look.
And give me a break, each and EVERY Halloween movie has story and depth. I'll admit, Resurreciton didn't but it was still a great movie and so were the others.
Has Loomis not talked enough for you in the original series? MICHAEL NEVER TALKED. And not every single got damn detail has to be explained. John Carpenter always said it was scarier not knowing why, and it IS. COME TO THE FREDDY VS JASON 2 BOARD TO SEE MY FREDDY VS JASON VS MICHAEL SCRIPT!

There were things about this film I liked (The original cut that was leaked though), but I've said all along that the rape scene was totally unnecessary. Sure the first Halloween had the stereotypical boob shots that all horror films have, and when a serious, dramatic movie portrays rape, even then I'm iffy about it, but what place does it have here? What purpose does it serve to the overall film? Halloween 1 was a classic film; not because it was gory (which it wasn't at all), not because of the nudity, not because of the cussing, but because it was SCARY
That's a word most 'horror' fans nowadays have totally forgotten about; scary. What happened to the times when you could jump in your seat and it had nothing to do with being grossed out? The first film had the lowest amount of blood I think has even been shown in a 'slasher' pic, and that's what made it so special. They tried to scare you first, and grossing you out never even came into their minds.
In my mind, Michael doesn't need a full explanation for why he turned evil. They didn't even attempt to explain it until part five, and people were, for the most part, satisfied. In the first film, it was just about a kid, who gave in to his dark instincts, and murdered his sister. And then came back to kill again, that's it! Oh.....so now his mother was a stripper, his step dad was a drunk ***hole, and his sister was a tramp? Oh.......well.........tha t would make any of us turn evil wouldn't it? *Rolls eyes*
You want gore, disturbing, brutal, horrible death sequences, go watch Saw or Hostel or some other 'torture porn' flick. Leave Halloween ALONE! God if they could make a Halloween movie that was HALF as good as the original I would be so happy.
Again, there were things I liked about the original cut, such as the original ending. I know a lot of people hated that ending, but I thought it was kind of cool if it wasn't connected to mainstream Halloween. The mask looked pretty cool, probably the best they've done since two (first was the best). And I'll admit the way he just walked up the porch and slit her step-father's throat like that was intense and unexpected, and really made you think that the cold, to the point killer was back (i don't know if that was the same in the theatrical).
But then there is the whole fleet of problems; like Laurie. Sure she did try to save the kids again like in the original, to show she wasn't heartless, but she wasn't exactly the sweet, nice person she used to be either. She treated Tommy more like a pest than letting him feel like he could depend on her when the the chips were down. Like how in the original she said "I promise I will never let anything happen to you." And that was before she even knew they were in danger.
The violence, though less so in the first cut, was just too much to be considered Halloween. Like you mentioned above about the duct tape scene; it didn't really disturb me as much as that, but it did piss me off. Namely because.......come on......the guy was asleep! He could have walked up behind him, slit his throat, and been on his way. But does he? No, he has to go Freddy Krueger on his ass and do something 'crazy and out there'!
I'll give Tyler Mane credit in that he seemed to have a lot of the movements down once he had the mask on, though he is taller than I picture Myers. And Malcolm McDowell did a very good job playing an up to date Loomis, the real faults in this version of Loomis purely in the writing and on Rob's head. After seeing the original trailer, I'll admit, I started to have high hopes for this movie. But just like other sequels/prequels/spin offs we've gotten over the past few years, it was a major let down.
If I were a critic (which I am, minus the getting paid for it part), I'd give it two out of five stars. One star for the mask, a half a star for Malcolm McDowell, and another half for letting us see Danielle Harris topless Just kidding about that last one.......well.....sort of. "At last, we shall have our revenge". Darth Maul

Hey guys!
I'm BACK! Web Head here under a new name. It feels like coming home! I have to say this forum is no way usless as anyone would dare say and in fact gives quite a neccessary and needed review.
I've been itching to hear Hallow's thoughts since I heard the movie was going into production. Silly of me, I know, but here they are and boy I'm not disappointed one bit.
Hallow has touched on every subject possible and Demon and Mr. Master (forget the name sorry man!) have said all that can be said really. I have the same views.
I think you can either love this movie or hate it. Everyone I know hates it yet seldom few here actually wing the other way (in terms of liking he film, of course, gentlemen ).
Anywhere in between can't be acceptable, this film just plain sucks.
Anything I say would be a repeat and that'd be pointless, our voice has been heard!
But one thing that bugged me: As Michael runs from the school like a little girl late for class, and the Halloween theme picks up, and then there is a freeze for the title to appear on screen then he runs on.
Now to me, he looked like he was ****ing dancing LMAO! I mean I seriously expected "MICHAEL MYERS as BILLY ELLIOT - HALLOWEEN". Yes, that skip in the air just seemed a like a hard kick in the you-know-where! Thank you Rob, you truely scarred me for life. Not due to your sick, twisted mind, but you Devil-given ability to destroy a legendary franchise.
Right, Hallow didn't only make me laugh with the twin comment, but I wouldn't put it past Zombie. I'm surprised kid Mich didn't do the samba out of the school.
