Just got off the phone with the terrific Josh Brolin man, what a year this guy has had! Grindhouse, American Gangster, No Country for Old Men, In the Valley of Elah and now Milk and we got onto the always popular topic of this Goonies sequel that will probably never happen.

Brolin, though obviously a big fan of the film, doesnt think theres a need for a sequel. And after you hear his reasons why you might just agree.

Why do people want there to be a Goonies sequel?, asks Brolin. Theres two ways it could go to me, itd be interesting to see a sequel because its been so long, 23 years or something. So now, youd have me, a 40-year-old guy whose probably drinking now, chain-smoking I dont ****in know (Laughs). But to me, the whole idea of going from I love The Goonies, which is a classic to I love The Goonies, what a classic, but did you see the new one? ....You know what I mean?

I then informed Brolin of The Lost Boys sequel thats headed our way.

Are they doing that?!.... With Corey Feldman?...Coreys the only bleed over?...There ya go. Thats a bummer.

Next, Brolin stars in Milk with Sean Penn.

Yeah. Im really happy about that. Ive had a lot of scripts come across that are edible, and Ive been reading them all, and I read Milk and I think Sean [Penn], who Ive known for a while, kinda lobbied for me to do it. I think Matt Damon was supposed to do it, but he left. I read it and I just loved it man. There was no question.

A lot of the scripts you read youre asking yourself is this really going to come together?, will they change some of the dialogue? this script is just perfect. Its an amazing story that should be told. Its Sean, its Gus Van Sant, and its Emile Hirsch who I love so its all good. But Im basically doing it for free these great roles, I dont get paid ****. I dont know why.

Our full interview with Brolin will be up next. What a great guy he is, real interesting to talk to, make sure you check it out.
