Of the films in Corey Feldman!/s back catalogue, there are two we never thought we!/d see sequels to (C we!/ve seen sequels to just about everything else he!/s done, and nobody asked for those - one!/s !.!/The Lost Boys!/!/, the other!/s !.!/The Goonies!/!/.

Not that audiences didn!/t hanker for them, and not some suits didn!/t fly the flag for both at one time or another, but there were just too many road blocks in their way. Funny how things happen when you least expect it to - by now, you!/ll be aware that !0The Lost Boys!1 sequel is finally before the cameras (C something Feldman never thought he!/d see.

The Felddog told me a couple of years back that all that reports suggesting Warner were seriously considering vamping out again were unfounded rumours. !0That was all purely rumour - I'm afraid there isn't one. But you never know!1, he told Moviehole a few years back.

Feldman seemed much more confident that we!/d see a !0Goonies!1 sequel one day (C after all, director Richard Donner, producer Steven Spielberg and the entire cast of the original film (including Josh Brolin, Sean Astin and Martha Plimpton) were right behind it. Donner was letting anyone with a chequebook know that he!/d be keen to follow up the 1985 classic.

The last script that surfaced had the original Goonies, now all-grown ups, teaming up with their kids on an adventure. I remember reading the script, it wasn!/t half-bad.

!0Every time it looks like getting off the ground, it hits a stand still again!1, Feldman told us. !0There's a new script all the time, and then it gets scrapped because the script sucks!1.

Well, either Richard Donner has just befriended Merrill Lynch, or a script had been found that finally (C yeah, the guy that did !0Dream a Little Dream 2!1 and !0National Lampoon!/s Last Resort!1 demands solid scripts! (C meets Feldman!/s requirements, because according to MTV, the !0Goonies!1 sequel may be on. Finally.

!0Right now they are talking about the idea of doing it as an animated series,!1 Feldman revealed to the site.

Again, Feldman touched on the script that I was referring to above (C the one with the Goonies teaming up with their kids.

!0The one that I heard that worked the best was all of us were now grown up, and have [our own] kids. And those kids get into some trouble and end up stumbling across some link to our past. They discover who we really are and what we went through. And, simultaneously, the Fratelli brothers find out that the kids have found out (C so they!/re out to get the kids and the kids are out to save their lives and their families.!1

!0At one point [another script] had me working in Vegas as a lounge guy, a Vegas shyster guy,!1 Feldman continued, laughing as he thought about what happened to his character, !0The Mouth.!1 !0Then there was another one where I was a trial lawyer.!1

Still, Feldman doesn!/t know whether it!/ll happen. !0But they just decided to make !.Lost Boys 2!d after 20 years,!1 he countered, suddenly hopeful. !0Anything!/s possible!!1

As reported a few months back, Richard Donner has heard whispers of a direct-to-DVD !0Goonies!1 sequel, too (C probably the animated one that Feldman is referring to.

!0There!/s talk that Warners are doing a Goonies film - for 12 days - just to go right to DVD!1, Donner told IESB, adding that they!/ll probably spent about eleven dollars on making the movie.

The filmmaker says that the only reason they!/re able to now do a direct-to-video sequel (C one without his blessing (C is because !0Twenty years is up, the rights have run out!1. (What that means is that so are the rights on the "Gremlins" series... so you can expect a direct-to-video sequel to that any day now, too).

OK, so it doesn!/t sound like ****, or Feldman, will be involved in a !0Goonies 2!1 but I!/ve got to tell you, and as funny as it sounds, it looks like Corey Feldman!/s on the outskirts of a major career comeback. Everyone was stoked to hear he!/d been offered a role in !0The Lost Boys!1 sequel and I bet there!/s just as many that would cream their Spiderman underoos if he suddenly signed up for a !0Goonies!1 sequel - animated or not. It!/s ****in!/ sad, but everything comes back into style eventually. Even Feldman. Dolph Lundgren!/s next. Then Kirk Cameron. And will someone give me a ****in!/ cola-cola yo-yo already?
