According to Variety, Jurassic Park 3 director Joe Johnston is set to return to the cockpit for Jurassic Park 4.
The film, based on a script by William Monahan (The Departed), is rumoured to fix on the character of Lexie (played by Ariana Richards in the first film) and her grandfather, Dr.Hammond (Sir Richard Attenborough).
The news was mentioned in an article in which George Lucas confirmed that Lucasfilm are getting out of the film business though first, theyve got an Indiana Jones sequel and a film about to do and are concentrating on TV instead.
Lucas, who is working on a Star Wars TV series, said: We don't want to make movies. We're about to get into television. As far as Lucasfilm is concerned, we've moved away from the feature film thing, because it's too expensive and it's too risky. I think the secret to the future is quantity. Because that's where it's going to end up."

oh my that doesn't sound so very well. Please tell me he didn't say that, 'cause I was actually (I know I know, the shame :rolleyes looking forward to that series of his. anyway, back to the topic of this thread: I sure hope he makes a better movie than he did with JP3, was a nice dino-parade but not much more, to contradict the george lucas: It's all about quality (of the dinos) not quantity (of the dinos)
Joe Johnston's representatives told MTV that he is "definitely not directing" Jurassic Park IV. This, after Spielberg said last year that Johnston was his "go-to Jurassic guy."
But apparently Johnston isn't "the right guy" to direct the sequel. When reached for comment, representatives for the director were adamant that Johnston is "definitely not directing ['Jurassic Park IV']."
