Just got back from watching Casino Royal and WOW!!!! This film is definitely one of the best James Bond films ever made, and Craig will certainly tie Connery as the best Bond. The black and white opening scene was just tight! I dont know how to describe it, but watching it was just neat-o!!! And the CG credit opening was probably one of the best title credit openings I've ever seen, period!!! The Cornell song was ok, though.

Craig delivered the goods, and you cant help but say "This is James Bond!" He is definitely the Bond we've wanted, and he definitely makes you believe he is a real man. He makes mistakes like all of us, but still doesnt seem to learn from them. It shows that Bond is a human being after all, especially when getting the crap kicked out of him!!! I say Craig should play James Bond for eternity!!!

Eva Green was wonderful as Vesper. The way she and Bond size each other up definitely shows the great chemistry they have between each other. And when Bond finally falls in love you believe this is a real relationship. It's just heartbreaking when
Vesper betrays Bond in the end and when she dies you feel terrible for Bond.
Mads Mikkelson played an excellent villain. For once it was nice to see a villain who had just as much to lose as Bond. No big plan to destroy the world, just a guy whose luck has run out. And the infamous torture scene, well, he's just brutal but Craigs reaction will just make you laugh out loud!!!

Judi Dench is still an awesome M. She truly acts like a boss in this film. Unlike other previous films where Bond was her favorite, in this she is constantly being pissed at Bond. He is such a screw-up and she shows her frustration with him thoughout the film.

I just cant get enough of this film! The action was brilliant, the poker playing scenes were brilliant, and the acting was top notch brilliant!!! The only down side is that it does feel a little too long. Some scenes seem to drag on, and the movie pulls a Return of the King and doesnt seem to want to end. But it's all worth it in the end when we FINALLY hear Bond utter those famous words (which happen to be the last line of dialogue in the film), "The name is Bond, James Bond."

HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!

4 1/2 out of 5 stars!!!!!

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just got back from Casino Royale... and that has to be the greatest movie ever made!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!

Craig delivered a freaking outstanding performance as Bond which makes Connery's acting skills look like a 10 year olds.

Craig is the Bond that the world has been looking for. At the beginning of the movie, we had to be looking for a mean cold blooded assasin that killed when he was told. And guess what? That is exactly what we saw from Craig.

Then near the end we had to be looking for the original fun-loving Bond that we all know and love today. And guess what? That is exactly what we saw.

The PTS (in black and white): Incredible. Craig just beat the crap out of the guy in the bathroom. And his second kill was genius. And I loved the gunbarrel! Didn't care for the way that the blood fell down the screen though... that's probably the only thing I didn't like about this movie.

Opening titles sequence: OMG!!!!!!!! It gave me goosebumps!!!!!! Best titles sequence I've ever seen. I can't even begin to explain it. It's just too awesome.

The poker scene: Excellent. Great suspense and fun to see all the things that happen through the whole thing.

Car chase: This was another problem. The car chase was too short. Nothing really exciting happened.

Torture scene: Painful, yet hilarious. Brilliant scene. Craig really gives it his all here.

Fall of the house in Venice: Another amazing sequence!!!!! This is the last part of the movie where we see the blunt instrument Bond that made a huge mistake by falling in love. Incredible acting by Craig.

Deneoument: OMGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!! That has to be the best delivered "The name's Bond... James Bond." line that I have ever heard!!!!! The best ending ever!!!!! The suit, the gun, the set up: freakin greatest part of the whole movie.

And plus, this movie was soooooo not 20 minutes too long. It was perfect. They got just enough information for us to see and ended it with our favorite line. Brilliant.

Craig is by far the best Bond ever. He can act, he can fight, he can kill, he can love, he can hate, he can be mean, he can be nice... he is Bond.

My grade: A++++++++++++++++++++++++
+++

Hi, i havent reviewed anything or expressed my oppions on these boards in a while soo, im back and to give insite on BOND!

Ok too sum up in one word... "I liked it" To me that is one word.

Cragg On Bond - Ok at first i was duebious about him playing bond, was he right for the role, would he pull it off, I must admit im not a big fan of the actor and rare have i seen him in anything. But i thought no they must of had good reason for him to play bond. Then i read all the negativeness on him playing bond. And in my oppion they were all wrong.

Daniel Cragg is bond, a new style of bond, one that Kicks @ss, He's faster, more agile, and that rogue like features that you only get in a bond character, After seeing the movie, i can see why they chose him.

No Gadgets - This was a wierd thing for me, the whole movie had a whole Oceans 12 kind of feel to it, only with more action that is. Fantastic locations, beautilfe women, poker and briliant villians made me not care so much the Gadgets wasnt in it. But somehow i still missed them.

Q - this was the thing i always felt definded Q although Q came with the gadgets. What i believe they should do for the sequil is at least introduce the element of high tech, technology being brought by MI5 and thusly introductiong Q he was the only character i missed.

Moneypenny, from the start i thought Vesper was Moneypenny, only due to misunderstanding at the part on the train where she introduces herself as the Money. But i soon knew it wasnt her.

The Future!

I think this style of film has a great future with the bond world. I would say Cragg: Bond is the batman begins of the franchise. We need more, We need continues, We need new stories... I dont think they should remake the old stories as they were unique, but go with something new. Except i want to see Blowfelt.

"Now the whole world is going to know you scratched my balls!"

My theatre screen was rolling and applauding throughout the entire scene. Every single guy had their legs crossed together. A few girls I overheard were saying they could even feel the pain.

Ok, so I went optimistically to watch Casino Royale today..

IT WAS AWESOME!!!!

Criticisms...
1: No action sequence with the theme tune... i was looking forward to one..but it never came.
2: Opening tune was a bit non directional..
3: Theres about a 15 minute period after the torture scene where everything goes soo slowly! I was looking around the cinema; hundreds of people and wondering what was going on.. no action of any sort - just slow diologue...not very Bond-esk.

Plus points:
1: Daniel Craig was immense as Bond. After one film he has won me over and hes now my favorite Bond actor, even over Brosnan and Connery, and thats saying something. He had everything..
2: Very Realistic, especially in storyline - he started the film reckless and ended it with style, using his classic quote after avoiding quotes on several occasions, which i loved.
3: The intro was just brilliant. The fighting in the opening sequence followed by the black and white (I wont go into detail) then having an origin for shooting at the screen was all amazing.
4: We now have an awesome new Bond and a direct sequel in the pipe line meaning Bond 22 could be much better. Especially as we might see gadgets (Q) and more flair on James' part.
5: The humour in Casino Royale is actually funny... I usually find it quite embarassing and cheesy but this is an exeption.

Theres a lot more to be said.. but the Pro's obviously outweigh the Cons.

Id say 8/10

The Ice-Cold Drummer X-Stud.

Only a catholic could walk into a room of naked clowns killing each other and immediately look at the plate of biscuits sitting on the table - Dylan Moran
