January 2, 2003 — The Sydney Morning Herald has reported that Nicole Kidman has now been confirmed to play Alexander's mother, Olympia.

The article quotes Kidman's Australian publicist, Wendy Day, in saying, "She's confirmed with me ... that she is doing a part in Baz Luhrmann's film, Alexander The Great."
